scott had expected this reaction - and he knows it wasn't fair to lie to him , but wil had been about to get on a flight just after it happened and he hadn't wanted to worry him unnecessarily. not about this. IT'S THE WORST SERIES OF INJURIES HE'S EVER HAD , and in hindsight , saying it was just a scratch when he'd been in a fucking car crash that had ended with a broken leg and bone showing - was a pretty stupid thing to do.

"i know okay , i fucked up! but i didn't want you sitting on that plane , thinking i was dying or some shit. i couldn't -" wil has lost too many people ; fought tooth and nail to get through some serious shit and scott couldn't add to that. he wouldn't. he's sitting in a hospital bed , after having surgery just a few hours ago. the drugs they'd given him were keeping the pain at bay , but making it very hard to think straight.

all he can do is watch as wil seems to fall apart - exactly as scott had expected. he holds his hand out as if to say 'i'm here , i'm alive , i'm with you'. he doesn't mention the broken ribs yet , he's not sure that wil could process that , the arm fracture and broken leg were on display and that felt like enough.

it's like a dam breaking - that moment when scott realises everything he's been searching for , is right in front of him. his fingers brush slowly against wilhem's jaw ; bright eyes searching his. ( he feels like he's missed every sign - every thing pointing towards this ). his forehead rests against his best friends and he takes a shaky breath. he caresses every part of his face he can reach - trying to sort out every thought thats spinning around in his head like a carousel.

he feels it in his chest. 'it's only going to be you' - that was mutual. EVERY ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP SCOTT HAS HAD , has failed , but one thing has been consistent. wil. always there. always having his back. loving him , silently whilst scott was struggling to piece things together.

fuck running - there's no way he's going to give this chance up. leaning forwards , his lips press against wil's with an urgency he hasn't felt in a long time. HIS HEART RACES , face flushing slightly. it's like a vow in a way ( 'im yours' ).

Just to make her point she rolled her eyes again, this time without turning her head away in annoyance. " And I, " she began, crossing her arms across her chest, " stand by the fact that you are being RIDICULOUS. " And how easy that was for her to say. Always on the defence, always all too ready to jump at any chance to argue for her superiority in any way no matter how trivial the occasion was. It was for her own protection though the habit had extended itself to any argument she engaged with. It was hard to shed the desire to prevent a catastrophe by arguing her case even when there was little to NO need to actually do so.

he hasn't slept in two nights & he knows wil has picked up on it. scott had tried this , moving back into his own place but every corner is haunted & even staying here long enough to find somewhere else felt impossible. HE KNOWS IT'S RIDICULOUS , but everywhere he looks he's reminded of everything that's gone down and he can't seem to fucking escape it. rolling over to grab his phone when it goes off , he almost sighs with relief seeing the message. yeah , wil sees right through him but right now scott needs that.
