✦   うちは   / he     doesn’t     remember   the   last   time   he   got   a   gift   on   his   birthday .   with   a   grandmother   who   believes   him   to   be   his   father   (   her   dead   son   ) ,   &   no   parents   or   family   who   particularly   care   about   him ,   it’s   a   treat   if   anyone   even   says   a   ‘ happy   birthday ’   to   him .   he’s   learned   to   ignore   it ,   to   forget   about   the   day   in   most   ways   that   matter .   it’s   a   counter   for   his   age ,   nothing   more .        (        it   still   smarts   &   he   still   craves   for   some   form   of   recognition .   )             so   this ?        this   is   .   .   .   wow .   lips   tremble ,   pursing   tightly   into   a   pout   as   if   that   could   keep   his   tears   at   bay .   with   watering   eyes   &   a   scrunched   up   face   he   hugs   her   back   tightly .   with   a   loud ,   watery   sniff ,   he   finally   lets   a   bright   smile   emerge ,   pressed   to   kushina’s   shoulder .

     THAT BOY’S HEART WAS PURE, SO PURE IT HURTED. Hurted because she knew people with good heart were always targeted, but Obito was different, wasn’t he? He had the power to change people around him and that was for certain. Kushina knew from the moment she saw him that this Uchiha was special and honestly?
