T25 Gamma (Round 3): Week 1 - Rip’t Up
Though I only made it through T25 Gamma the second time with just a few nailed, I have decided to challenge myself even further by increasing the weight this time from 14 to 17.5. Â Some of the challenge comes from ego left over from completing Insanity , but I also like the feeling of overcoming trials. My motivation and mentality are stronger than they have ever been and I know that I will not succumb to the frustration and depression I had the first time.Â
I don’t know what it was, maybe it was the rain all night and the high humidity, but my ankles were sore this morning. So the little warm up routine was not pretty, but that’s OK because it’s not long before you hit the weights in this one.
Brought out the 17 for the first time for the bicep curls and I immediately thought “This ain't that bad. I've got this. This might not be as hard as I think!” It builds though and eventually I had to switch to the fourteens but I was well past half way point when I did. I had to switch on the Shoulder Shimmies. I think it’s time to admit my shoulders need additional work. They may not be as strong as they should be. (There I go comparing myself to others I just need to take a deep breath and relax. I’m doing this for me!) This portion of Ripped Up was always the hardest part for me anyway so I didn’t feel too bad and I eventually switched back to the seventeens. With about 7:30 I don’t feel bad about it, because I gave it me all and there was no reason to beat myself up.
I’m glad I did and I didn't chicken out on switching up the weight. I almost did because I thought I should take it lighter at first, but that was just an excuse and I am proud I saw it as one, because you can’t improve yourself without pushing past your comfort zone.
