I missed Golden Shrike’s fifth birthday this month, but here’s a little dude!
I discovered the comic Golden Shrike earlier this week, and I cannot say how much I LOVE it! Had to doodle some fanart of my favourite characters so far, Cutlass and Riptail~ @doe-prince these two are the BEST! (I am highly suspicious of Cutlass…)

Wronged
I don't remember where I read it but I recently found out Cutlass is someone else's character you incorporated into your story. What's the story behind it, if I may ask? Like, did you hold a contest or something and they won? Are they a dear friend of yours? Or was it just a fanart that you REALLY liked to the point of adding it to the story?
Cutlass belongs to SmolderBone (dA/IG). We've been friends for 18 years and we created Cutlass and Riptail years and years before GS was even a thought in my head. Riptail is kind of the forefather of all of Golden Shrike because he was my muse for deer art and stories, and his messy relationship with Cutlass was monumental in all that.
I wanted to put Riptail in the story to give thanks to him, so naturally I asked to add Cutlass in too so they could be together. They're not major plotty characters, but they have a place here.
They've left the pain and drama of the past behind and they can just be chill now. They're the cool quirky gay uncles of Golden Shrike, standing on a hill watching the new generation run off to their own adventure.
