Little Amanda thought her mother would be home in time for her 11th birthday. She could take that absence. It was Christmas without her mother that year that hit the hardest, and it seemed to get worse every year. She felt abandoned. Sad and angry and that was a dangerous combination. Fite me.
the stars are the ones screaming. nobody is heard over the STARS. they own the final frontier. not even weyland-yutani, earth’s conglomerate, power hungry company can compete with the stars. the stars are shining in ripley’s nearly black eyes, she’s covered in the stars, they’re claiming her and somewhere, a million miles away, light years away, is ellen ripley’s human link wondering simply WHERE her mother went. different time periods, ripley’s drowning in the stars – she can’t get out of this, they’ve claimed her, she’s one of them because there’s only one thing the xenomorphs fear: THE STARS. ripley takes a deep breath in, playing back the recording.

I LOVE YOU, SWEETHEART. the recording is loud & clear in the ship, it echoes off the walls, silences the screaming of the stars. it’s too late, stars, you may have wanted ripley, another star, the personification of a burning light in the cold, cold dark – but you gave her A DAUGHTER first. is that why you wouldn’t let her go back to amanda ripley. an astronaut may never touch the stars, they can only admire. WHY was that their fate? the tale of a star & her daughter. she’s sorry amanda. she’ll always choose you first, but fate decided to choose her elsewhere, to fight the final frontier’s deadliest creatures, find her home among the stars. they decided ellen ripley belonged there.
“ they can’t keep us apart. ” ripley whispered right before hyper sleep, before that slumber that would steal their LIFE together.“ they can’t keep us apart forever. ” ripley thought just before she hit that molten grave, sacrificing herself for THE STARS. after all, it’s the star that burned out but no matter what, her love for amanda ripley is just not capable of dying. she found a way back to amanda.
