So my friend's old house has been sitting stagnant for a couple of years now. It used to have a sign out front but now it doesn't and it's obvious nobody owns the poor thing. I have an extreme emotional attachment to this home. My friend's father died in 2007 of lung cancer and he put a lot of hard work and time into that house to make it what it is, an amazing home. The value used to be less than $50,000. Now, I checked online and it's over $100,000. For that house, at that age, in that area that's a lot.
I'm dying to know what bank owns it (it was foreclosed on). I'm dying to know if I could possibly get a loan and buy it. I don't like seeing it sit there and rot. The house is amazing. I would love to buy it and own it as my own. However, I would have to rent it out until I got a good paying job or until the mortgage was paid off. I don't really have any dying urge to live in Berlin, but I love that house.
Call me crazy, but this is something I really want to do. Anyone who has any information on easy ways to find out who owns a home like that the advice is appreciated. My dad is down to cosign on a loan for me (although both my parents have semi-terrible credit). I would just have to rent it out asap/figure out a way to pay the mortgage for a month until it was rented out.
I don't know why suddenly I'm turning to the business aspect of society and careers, but I'm not going to fight it.
