#rip lea

So, if Lea did "trade places" with the Hunter, would it really be "trading" places? Like, they would still be a Chen. Probably still not as well treated as a non-Hunter Chen, but would they be viewed by most others like the Hunter is?

hmmm yes and no... if Lea were a hunter, they would definitely still get mistreated, however it would be to a lesser extent & it would be easier for them to gain people's trust/respect than it is for our hunter.

Lea is still pretty young, so people would still tend to be wary around them; Lea's parents, who are both hunters, are older and very well-known at this point throughout the north, and have been very successful in their careers. they don't have as many problems traveling or interacting with common folk as other hunters (&handlers) would, but they did still have to put in a bit of work to prove themselves compared to if they were just handlers.

Commander Hadrien is kind of the darling Chen at the moment, since she's the commander and thus not a hunter, and Lea is... definitely well-respected, but overshadowed by her (hmmmm...)

also in my opinion as their creator if Lea really was a hunter they would be neurotic and extremely unwell; they already feel way too much pressure (mostly put on themself by... themself) just to be a good handler, and i think that would be quadrupled x1000000 if they were a hunter. people already inherently hate hunters, so they would be constantly paranoid and overthinking everything they do to make sure they don't "misrepresent" hunters and "prove" that people's dislike is actually warranted, and combine that with also having to represent their family name... their head would explode, unfortunately.....
