event 001; the annual new year’s masquerade ball

dearest students,

in many ways, the festive season is all about traditions. think about it for a second; every year, we do the exact same things. family dinners, boxing day, new year’s eve - it’s all just a regurgitation of what we did the year before. and while, sure, your roast dinners and festive decorations certainly hold a lot of sentimental value, there is one tradition that trumps them all - the annual masquerade ball, hosted by your two least favourite groups of people. the riot club & st paschals.

so, in the name of tradition, pop that bottle of champagne you’ve been saving since fresher’s week, brush the dust off your black tie outfits and make your way down to oxford town hall. but remember not to make too much of a fool of yourself. 

after all: the masks come off at midnight.

time: 10PM jan 5 - midnight jan 8 (GMT). event type: dash. there will be a discord event starting at 11PM on saturday jan 6. dress code: black tie 

we will be posting an activity check within the next day or two, if you are beyond the activity limit of four days your role will be reopened. please remember that text threads and musing posts do not count toward activity. thank you !!

currently as per our rules, we have been running activity checks once a week, usually, on wednesdays/thursdays, this will no longer be in place. effective immediately activity checks will be spontaneous and conducted once a week as needed.

in regards to activity, text interactions as well as paragraph interactions, will count towards activity but not text interactions alone. if the only interactions your character has participated in for four days ( the activity limit ), their unfollow will be posted.

ask meme’s do not count towards activity, replies are still required. we love meme weekends/nights as much as you all do but to keep an active dash it does require replies too.

we will be actively cutting down on ANY godmodded starters. we understand that certain people do not mind godmodding in context but in starters it makes interacting with your character extremely hard and almost impossible. if there are any problems with godmodding in normal interactions that you have a problem with, please message the main.

with starters we also ask that they be more inclusive to strangers, oxford is a very large university, it is safer to assume your characters don’t know anyone at all instead of assuming they know everyone. please bear this in mind when writing starters.
