rinkitay :)
another big parallel between rin and kitay is that they both thought they were so above sacrificing their principles for love. rin hated mai’rinnen tearza for killing herself and surrendering because she loved the red emperor. kitay desperately tried to be morally right even in the toughest circumstances and judged those who weren’t. but in the end they both betrayed their principles for each other. kitay couldn’t do the morally right thing and deprive rin of her power because he loved her too much. for someone who was so proud of his moral high ground, he was so loyal to her that he was ready to let her destroy the world. and even though she swore she would never be so weak to surrender and let her people be conquered, the mere thought of hurting kitay to reach her goal stopped her. it was her love for him that made her surrender. and they both kind of became the things they hated the most.
cannot stop thinking about the parallels between this scene in tdr between rin and nezha
and this scene in tbg between rin and kitay
rin tells nezha that he's hurting her and he stabs her anyway because duty was more important to him than rin ever could be while kitay tells rin that she's hurting him and that immediately pulls her out of the throes of madness because kitay is ultimately more important to her than her misguided attempt at liberation.
rin and kitay love each other so much that they can't even fathom the thought of willingly inflicting pain on the other while rin and nezha love each other so much that despite everything they still can't kill the other and yet it doesn't matter anyway because all they know how to do is hurt each other.
rin literally punched him in the face their first day at sinegard. their story started and ended in violence because history just moves in such vicious circles.

So who is going to write the fic where Kitay and Rin get in a lavender marriage to become the most toxic dominating (queer platonic) Power couple in all of Nikan ? Ft. Nezha screaming crying and throwing up in the corner whether he does or does not know that the marriage is not romantic and sexual he is about to kill himself bc he knows he is not brave enough to marry her against his family's wishes.
Canon era or Modern au, both are fine to me.
I was thinking about altan's death and how the cike never got to see his body and couldn't give him a proper burial, wich made me think about rin and kitay when they died in speer and whether they got a proper burial or not. yeah nezha was with them, but he was manipulated by the hesperians and they wanted rin dead for so long and they've already experimented on her when she was alive I cant help but think that they took her body and nezha couldn't do anything about it. maybe he fought for it but eventually had to give in, or maybe rin was respected at least after her death. maybe the hesperians took her for research but left kitay, nezha hiding the fact that their souls were connected, to at least protect the boy who always outsmarted him since they were kids
