why does dark cacao get so much hate??? the amount of times I’ve seen people blaming him for being manipulated by affogato because “it’s so obvious how could he not see it” is actually fucking insane 

because….manipulation isn’t obvious to the person being manipulated??? when we view the story we’re seeing things from a third person perspective, we don’t get to see things from dark cacao’s pov so of course it’s obvious to us but not to him. like let’s be so genuinely for real right now

why does every other ancient get an excuse for their shitty behaviour EXCEPT dark cacao? i don’t see people hating on any o the ancient NEARLY as much as they do with dark cacao

pure vanilla actively lied to all his friends about where white lily was and he gets a pass

hollyberry is a whole ass alcoholic and a. neglected her child and duties as queen and b. made dark cacao drink when he doesn’t drink and she gets a pass

golden cheese is stuck in the past and refusing to let her subjects go despite the fact they’ve all been dead for hundreds of years and i see nobody talking about it

white lily? after all the shit she’s done she has SO MANY defenders saying she did nothing wrong

and when it comes to dark cacao everyone and their mom finds reasons to demonize him and call him a terrible person

while yes he’s done bad things, i’m not saying he hasn’t done anything wrong because that’s simply not true (ex. being too strict with dark choco, shutting the walls of the citadel and focusing solely on the great wall out of paranoia from the dark flour war), i’m just saying the amount of hate he gets, and the amount of times i’ve seen ppl blow those out of proportion and say ‘oh he was an abusive father!’ and ‘he was a dictator who hated his subjects!’ is fucking ridiculous

we as a fandom need to cut that poor man some slack. he doesn’t deserve like half of the hate that he’s getting.
