A Drow with her riding lizard. I don't know much about Dungeons and Dragons lore, but I wanted to draw a purple lady.
It’s Brisa!!! They’re Luana’s riding lizard. She loves them and I do too. They’re a good lizard
Their scales are supposed to be kind of iridescent but oh well, I don’t know how to draw that. I’ll try next time.

Sketch a Day 1715-Riding Lizard- 1/16/20
Work on a couple of animal companions from our most recent D&D game. Benedict is our dragonborn paladin's giant riding lizard steed. Benidict is our goblin bard/warlock's miniature fey donkey familiar who was named to spite the paladin after it stopped the bard from tying up a local noble naked in the town square.
Minutes for 2017-03-22
The party heads out on lizard back. About two hours in, the party hears a large crash in the woods, with a huge dust cloud. A woman screams and a man yells out "Get back, get back!".
There's a horrific green serpent with tentacles on top of a cart, with a woman and a man on the ground nearby. The man's leg appears broken. A second cart, behind the first, is beset by two more of the beasts. Coll rides around the first cart and after making a quick feint, slashes into it with his glaive. The cut seems to heal up immediately afterwards.
Coll's not sure what it is, but thinks it might be a baby dragon. A ball of fur, like a cross between a hawk and a fox, drops out of the sky, crashing into Coll with its talons and claws for 25 damage. It bounds away before Coll can react.
Snow rides up on the other side of serpent and lays into it with her greatsword, making a huge hit, but it appears to heal up again. The beast then wraps tentacles about the woman next to the cart and bites into her with its beaks, releasing a spray of blood. Snow jumps onto the creature's back.
One of the creatures slithers off the other wagon to attack the halfling next to it (T'odd), but misses.
Mildred moves off to the side, and casts Scorching Ray, setting the serpent and the hawk-fox on fire briefly, then taps into her sorcerous resources to use Mage Hand to push on the hawk-fox's wings calling out, in her most fearsome voice, that she controls nature.
Ceridwen moves up and casts Eldirtch Blast on the serpent Snow's riding, and obliterates it.
An gorilla-bear hoots and crashes out of a tree landing next to Snow on the cart and swings its claws at her for 6 damage.
The halfling, T'odd, disengages from the serpent next to him, and calls out "be careful of the gricks, you can't just slash the gricks, you've got to use magic." He then drops his rapier, pulls out a dulcimer, and strums out a Healing Word which heals Coll for 6 damage.
Noz casts a Fire Bolt on the closer living grick, which makes its flesh sizzle.
The other grick crawls off the wagon and wraps its tentacles around T'odd, then bites him for a total of 26 damage.
Coll rides over next to T'odd, thumps the grick, then jumps off his lizard and falls back calling out and attempting to lure the grick away from T'odd.
The hawk-fox dives again, hitting Mildred for 14 damage, then disengages and circles up towards the clouds.
Snow roars in anger, then cleaves the gorilla-bear in two. A grick slithers up onto the wagon next to Snow, and attacks her with its tentacles and beak for a total of 3 damage.
Mildred shoots off a fire bolt that hits the hawk-fox on its way up into the air, and it yowls at her. Ceridwen blasts the grick next to Snow with an Eldritch Blast. T'odd steps back, plays a melody of Dissonant Whispers that briefly distracts the grick near him. Noz moves up the road, and briefly lights the grick near T'odd on fire.
The grick turns briefly toward Noz, but Coll's shouts grab its attention. It charges downhill at Coll and slashes at him with its tentacles, but he manages to duck out of the way. A giant python-thing slithers out and bites Coll's abandoned mount. Lenora rides around the tree to engage the the python-thing, which she recognizes as a boalisk, a cross between a boa and a basilisk. Coll uses his Second Wind, then slashes the boalisk with his glaive, then dives into its coils.
The hawk-fox dives again and slashes Mildred with its talons for 8 damage, but she uses the moment to hit it with a Hellish Rebuke; it flaps away again.
Snow slashes into the grick next to her again, only to watch her blow heal as soon as her sword pulls out. The grick ignores her, and wraps the man with the broken leg in its tentacles.
Mildred casts Mage Armor on herself, then rides over to Ceridwen, who casts Cure Wounds, healing her for 4 damage.
Coll's mount bites the boalisk.
T'odd hides himself from the grick behind a tree, then lends Lenora some Bardic Inspiration.
Noz blasts the hawk-fox out of the sky with a Fire Bolt.
The grick attacks Coll, but misses. The boalisk constricts, and squeezes 6 damage out of Coll, then locks its eyes with Coll's.
The man with the broken leg manages to roll away from the grick next to Snow.
Lenora's flail smashes the boalisk's skull, and its coils fall limp.
