“Dick meet Grayson,” Noah grinned, making the batman joke as he held up the little husky pup towards the other. “But, seriously though, happy birthday, bro. I figured you could add this little guy to our new makeshift sort of pack?” He offered up, knowing things were still weird between them, but Rick trying, he figured it was only right to give his brother a second chance to be a family. “Don’t kill him,” Noah quickly added on though, half-jokingly and half as a precaution.

Sabrina didn’t know how long she had been laying there. Minutes? Hours? It all seemed the same to her. She had somehow managed to prop herself up against the wall of the alleyway, all the while she had been fading in and out of consciousness. She knew the corpses around her were her doing. Some vampires she had mind controlled into attacking each other after they had come looking for her from the smell of blood. Her leg- or what was left of it still drenched from when Elias had torn it to pieces. And yet it all seemed like one big blur. One big nightmare she still hadn’t found a way to wake up from. She sat there. Slipping in and out until she caught a glimpse of the familiar figure out of the corner of her eyes. “Rick?”

“Hello, Hitman. So, when you said what ever your heart desires, did you really mean it? Even if it’s less red carpety and more going to a house of horrors or a graveyard? Or a ghost tour in a murder house by a graveyard? We can be in full glam while we do it, pretty please with a cherry on top?”

“Hey Jake Ryan!” Sabrina let out two low whistles, catcalling the other from across the street. She knew she probably looked a whole lot less epic than she felt, leaning up against the red convertible she had rented, supporting herself using a pair of crutches since she still couldn’t walk without them. But, for the moment, she didn’t care. “Happy Birthday.” After everything he had done for her, she’d be damned if she didn’t give him one hell of a birthday in turn.

The box was supposed to be baby things of his that he could hand down to Jason. But, what he wasn’t expecting was to see a picture of his mom standing next to some stranger holding baby him in their arms. The man was almost a spitting image of Noah. Tan skin, dark brown eyes, and a goofy smile. And his mom? She looked happy. Happier than he had ever seen her. “Fuck,” Noah swore under his breath, shaking his head as he looked up to see his brother. “I’m gonna need another coffee. Or maybe twelve? With a shot of vodka in them?”

The first one that comes to mind is hanging out with my brother, back before everything seemed to be a competition between the two of us? I used to follow him everywhere, mimicking everything that he did and hoping it would cause him to rub off on me or something? I kinda miss it. Miss him.
