hey!!!! Yeah, I saw them in July this year, actually!! It was a really good show in an outdoor amphitheatre (it was at half capacity PLUS not all the tickets sold) and since there was barely anyone there, the security didn't really care if you got up from your seat and stood in the aisle (or in my case, went to an empty row near the front and danced).

The other band that night was GrimSkunk, another Quebecois band, and I think people assumed Voivod would play after them because a lot of people showed up late to skip the opener, but it was Voivod who started the show.

My boyfriend had seen Voivod back in the day (a few times, even) but I'd never seen them so we went, bought one of the records they were selling at the merch stand plus two shirts. Watched the concert and it was great,, the whole night was pretty good overall!!

After the show we saw Away (the drummer) and the "new" guy Chewy talking to some fans out front. My boyfriend doesn't really care (he's met a ton of musicians and for him, it's not big deal to meet them or not) so I went up and tried to chat with Chewy,, ended up chatting with Away and I told him I really enjoyed the show, that I'd never seen them in concert and he ripped up that drumkit, and then I asked if he could sign my album. He did, and drew a little ufo on it above his signature, then I wished him a good night and rest of the tour (it was a little mini-tour kinda).

It was really nice to see a concert again, because I hadn't been to a show since I saw Clan of Xymox in November 2019.
