a curator, typically, takes care of every aspect of a museum's ambiance to show off their fancy art things, and for a japanese ancient mythical weaponry display, this meant fish. koi, specifically. bright flashes of orange and white drifting through clear water like living brushstrokes.
she looks down toward the pond as she waits, one hand gripping the silver cane she leans on. the metal glints faintly in the soft warm lighting of the daylight, though her eyes hard hidden behind the dark glasses. next to her, carletta crouches low to the ground, getting a closer look at the pond's edge. her dress bunches slightly at the knees, but she doesnāt seem to care.
it's not the first time she's been here. no, this guy's been a right pain in her ass over this display, demanding everything be perfect. and now, here she is again, with the expert she hired to maintain the koi pond on site. best money could find. a lovely older gentleman from the countryside, quiet and patient, with a calmness that only someone whoās spent years watching fish could have. she'd say he loves them a little too much, honestly.
