his partner, dazai osamu, is quite the enigma really. he knows his partner from the inside out (or so he likes to think,) but sometimes he still doesn’t know what’s going inside of that head of his. 

with hands shoved inside his pockets, he gazes up at the blue sky lost in thought. sometimes he eyes the people walking in the opposite direction as he is careful not to bump into them.right now it is the last thing he wants to do. their mission has been completed but they are only able to return to yokohama until later. apparently, the port mafia has bumped into some issues and are only able to retrieve them in a few days from now on. which meant they were free to spend their time in america as they please. 

which also meant that he has to involuntarily spent time with his partner. as much as he hates to admit it, at the moment he is heavily dependent on dazai to do the talking. he can save himself with the english language (again, so he likes to think) but he knows very well that it’s not his strongest suit. if it were italian for example then he would have been able to save himself, hell, even french would do at this point. but alas he spent more time learning those languages for a particular hobby of his rather than learning one of the international languages of the world. and thus has to rely on his partner instead.

don’t be mistaken, the thought of it even is infuriating enough. let alone the fact that he gets dragged from one place to another. many in the port mafia hold dazai in a high regard and even chuuya does too to some extent but what many people don’t know is that being in the company of dazai is similar to that of babysitting.

and chuuya just lost that very baby.

upon realising he abruptly stops his movements and looks around him. he was certain the other was walking next to him just a minute ago. ‘great’ he grumbles before scanning the area in the hopes to find dazai but alas to no avail. he could have decided to just leave at that point even though the entrance fee was rather high. ‘tch’ so much for having a peaceful (and rare) day off. chuuya knows very well that he probably owes it to every parent in the park to make sure that his partner doesn’t accidentally scar every kid for life. even though he technically owed them nothing. 

and thus his search begins. unfortunately for him, the park is rather huge. it even reaches the point where chuuya begins to curse the entire park for being as big as it is, but hey it’s disney world so go figure. after a certain period of time chuuya finally decides to give in and stop his search, there is no way he’ll be able to find that damned partner of his. especially when said partner refuses to pick up his damn phone. when he does decide to give up he rests against a fence and looks at the area in front of him. the sound of the people is deafening to his ears. but even when he is drowning in their voices he still hears that sing-songy voice. 

he looks around him, trying to pinpoint where the voice is coming from but he cannot seem to register where it’s coming from. ‘i must be going insane’ and at this point, it wouldn’t be too surprising if it were. that was until he hears the voice again, making him look up.

leave it to dazai to make chuuya look in disbelief once again. somehow dazai had managed to find himself into one of those ‘kiddie’ rides. well, it wasn’t exactly a kiddie ride but if he could say one thing for certain then it is that dazai has reached far past the height limit of the ride. makes him wonder why and how the employee even let him in. the redhead wraps his fingers around the wires from the fence while he watches his partner with his signature smirk. his partner sure is something else.
