Discover how to smoke mouthwatering ribs that have a smoky barbecue flavor by following the 2-2-1 method. The meat comes out perfectly tender and flavorful.
Ingredients: 2 racks of baby back ribs. 1/4 cup of your favorite BBQ rub. 1/4 cup of brown sugar. 1 tablespoon of paprika. 1 tablespoon of black pepper. 1 tablespoon of salt. 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. 1 teaspoon of onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. 1 cup of apple juice. 1 cup of your preferred barbecue sauce.
Instructions: The membrane behind the ribs should be removed. To create the dry rub, combine the BBQ rub, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. After liberally applying the dry rub mixture to both sides of the ribs, allow them to sit for approximately half an hour at room temperature. Set the temperature of your smoker to 225F 107C. For two hours, place the ribs on the smoker grates and smoke them. Once the first two hours are up, wrap each rack of ribs in aluminum foil and stuff each packet with half a cup of apple juice before sealing it shut. Put the foiled ribs back in the smoker and light it for another two hours. After carefully removing the wrapping, coat the ribs with your preferred barbecue sauce and put them back in the smoker for the last hour to let the sauce get caramelized. When finished, the ribs ought to be tender and have a lovely bark. Give them a few minutes to settle before slicing and serving.
