Hermione is being harassed about her ‘relationship’ with Harry by Lavender and Parvati. They’re convinced Harry and Hermione are secretly in love. Hermione loses her temper and basically says she wouldn’t even consider dating Harry because (insert unflattering made up reasons here). Unfortunately Harry overhears and is heartbroken that Hermione thinks so little/poorly of him. Lavender and Parvati spot Harry at the last moment and correctly guess that he’s upset. They tell Hermione off for being so negative/insulting about her friend, and tell her that Harry overheard what she said. She’s mad at them for forcing her into a corner in which she felt she needed to lie. She admits to them that she lied to them, that really does care a great deal for Harry. She then takes off after Harry. A long, angsty, HARD, heart to heart discussion later –in which Harry admit how much it hurt hearing that stuff from her– Hermione admits that she’d been lying to Lavender and Parvati to try and get them to back off. Harry is reluctant to believe her, but eventually does. He then confesses that he first heard the start of the discussion he’d hoped she’d admit to having feelings for him. Long and short of it? Harmony ensues. ALSO: apologies for all the sad and angst ridden prompts. Seasonal depression is the worst for creating unhappy prompt ideas.
