"Old Diaries" ========================== The mind once enlightened cannot again become dark. All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen. As I unfold my diaries and albums, I see my past trekking experiences to the most desolate and rugged mountains through out High Himalayas. And then, I look myself today, and immensely thank God for I contain the same spirit and joy I possessed 20 years back. How faithful is my God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. This image reminds me of the pathetic situation of Village with the absence of a Church 20 years back. But today, due to greatness of God, there is a Church where hundreds of believers are experiencing the goodness of God and enjoying the assurance of the eternal life in the Heaven. "Mystic Langtang" ========================== The Langtang Valley is sublime, to say the least, but what really wins your heart is not its beauty but its spirit. The Langtang region sits on Nepal’s border with Tibet, a short distance north of Kathmandu. It’s a narrow valley running east to west, wedged between dramatic 6,000 to 7,000m snow-capped peaks, the highest of which is 7,227m Langtang Lirung. There is no doubt that one of the most jaw-dropping experiences of my hikes to the Langtang Valley in Nepal was passing through Langtang village, the site of a devastating landslide during the 2015 earthquake. This tiny village in the Langtang Valley accounted for 243 of them: 175 villagers, 27 local tourism staff (guides and porters), and 41 foreign trekkers. Today, we are proud to have this region as one of our mission fields where once our believers were persecuted by many Buddhist devotees. They were also compelled to exile from their own house and village. But their faiths and submission to God made them the great warriors to raise a big Church and win many souls to Christ. Christ's favor is superbly hovering over them with abundant grace and supports. Again, this was only possible through generous partners of RHMI. "Beginning of a new Walk" ======================= Your baptism is a step of obedience, a leap of faith and the beginning of a walk with the Lord that will last forever. If you accept the belief that baptism incorporates us in the mystical body of Christ, into the divine DNA, then you might say that the Holy Spirit is present in each of us, and thus we have the capacity for the fullness of redemption, of transformation. “Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Every year, hundred of new believers from different remotest villages of Himalayas are water baptized and welcomed into the beautiful kingdom of God through incredible ministry of RHMI. Battlefield converts into a Mission Field ========================= The earthquake of 25 April 2015 enormously affected human, socio-economic and other multiple sectors and left deep scars mainly in the economy, livelihood and infrastructure of Nepal. Hundreds of thousands of Nepalese were made homeless with entire villages flattened, across many districts of the country out of which, this village was one of them. Many villagers were terrified, hopeless, homeless, starving and wailing. As we reached there, we did humanitarian works, provided reliefs, intervened with them, shared Gospels, showed Jesus' Film and encouraged them with powerful scriptures which literally transformed their lives. Love and concern were truly an effective element that helped establish a big church here with strong believers today. Home Is Where The Family Is =========================== Missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. My native people are my second family as a gift from my God. Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing. After all, our God is concerned with establishing relationships rather than anything else. I love spending most of my time with my beloved brothers and sisters in the Himalayas, which brings me close to them, help me understand their livelihoods, basic needs, prayer points, problems, persecutions, scarcity and ultimately step into their shoes. Because I believe Jesus didn't just come to minister but restore our broken relationship with God. "Himalaya: A rendezvous" ========================== It was such a great pleasure to pray over these hungry souls, sick bodies and thirsty hearts in the most remote place in the Himalayas with our faithful and generous partners from USA, New Zealand and Malaysia. Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart. I personally believe, we must not sit still and look for miracles; up and doing, and the Lord will be with thee. Prayer and pains, through faith in Christ Jesus, will do anything. Thank you everyone who were presented there sharing this wonderful moment and everyone praying for us and our short mission trip staying back at home. The Short-term mission trip to the remotest places in the Himalayas, meeting Village people, confronting their lifestyles, cultures, languages and much more have always been exciting, mesmerizing and unforgettable. "Mystic Himalayan Roads" ================================= Being passionate for Jesus sounds as great as it is hard to imbibe it. Travelling through Himalayas is not an easy task specially through broken and muddy roads. Due to lack of a contingent plan for the monsoon season, unplanned road construction and the municipality’s indifference, most of the roads in the Himalayas have always remained in poor shape. Bad roads also make them prone to serious accidents. Disabled and elderly persons are especially affected by the pathetic condition of roads. Children and the residents of the Himalayas have been facing this nuisance for years, with them falling in the rainwater-clogged ditches and potholes every now and then. It was so slippery and broken at some corners that it felt audacious to ride our bikes over it. A slight skid could have sunken us straight down the cliffs in most turnings. "The Manang Calls" ========================== Manang is one of the most popular villages of Annapurna circuit trek. This village is an acclimatization stop point for every traveler. Manang village is situated at 3440 meters above sea level. Situated in front of the beautiful Annapurna Himalayan range, this place serves meals and accommodation for numerous trekkers every day. It takes about 4 - 5 days to reach Manang from Kathmandu. Our brothers and sisters who are regularly persecuted by the Buddhists and the Hinduist devotees needed motivation and words of hope. It was such a great pleasure to see them gathering and continuing house churches despite of such hindrances and persecuting circumstances.
