Simplifying Code with Processing by Daniel Shiffman
In Processing you don’t have to know everything about coding. Furthermore you are learning by doing and experimenting. So it’s not only for programmers but also for designers who want to create something visual by using an algorithm and giving something a digital look. Processing can be used to put visuals on a display or furthermore video walls, but also to create a code for a 3D printer. Also data visualizations, done with processing, are popular.
And the best is: Processing is open sourced.
Professional Coding with Cinder with Keith Butters
Cinder is a library of Code, written in C++. This is also a type of programming that is good for designers and creative people. Its used for small scaled project as well as for big scaled ones. Nike, for instance, realized a project with Cinder.
Cinder is also open sourced.
Open Frameworks Community & RGBD Toolkit with Jonathan Minard and James George
Open Frameworks also uses libraries. It was developed out of a video background and so is ideal for projects that use the kinect combining it with a traditional DSLR camera for creating impressive visual illusions. A new kind of cinema has been created that uses three dimensions. The visualizations can represent us, living in digital world. Our bodies can be recreated as avatars, that have a digital look.
RGBD Toolkit is again: open sourced!
