( i am done fighting w my photoshop so insert pretty graphic here )
alrighty lovebugs ! i mentioned a task, and here it is. we’d like for everyone to make posts about what their characters did over the arc, including changes in their lives, and as much detail as you’d like ! please refrain from posting these until AFTER the new arc drop, and of course you can always edit them.
i would also strongly advice collaboration in your family chats so that way other players know if they’re at home w. their siblings or were forsaken for other travels ! even if you just drop an update, it’s beneficial to all parties to know what’s going in.
have a blast, make them as pretty or as simple as you like + please tag them with rfms.task02 + rfms.arc02 !

one wouldn’t think the lady florent had been summoned for an inquisition by the calm way she walked into the throne room, curtsying respectfully to the dornish royal family as if sharp, judgmental words for them hadn’t filled her mind and fallen quietly from her lips to one. the same person who, due to the order, or lack thereof, they’d been summoned, would now learn of each question the council planned to ask before they even set foot in this room. if the dragon’s other birds hadn’t gathered that information already.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
❝ only a few days before the wedding, unfortunately. ❞ a regretful smile graced her expression. ❝ my betrothed and i elected to spend a few days at my home, brightwater keep, during our journey here. ❞
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
her expression remained constant but internally helaena scoffed at the question. one all would answer the same, and if the martells needed to catch someone in a small lie to prove guilt then they were more lost in this investigation than she’d thought. ❝ preparing for the wedding. knowing it was to be such a grand affair, i wanted to look my best. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
❝ i ventured into the courtyard a few times, but never beyond the main celebration. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
an apologetic look crossed her face despite this being an unnecessary question. their guards should have a list. ❝ none that caught my eye. all looked like ordinary guests. ❞ save the birds she’d recognized fluttering in and out in their disguises, lost in the crowd and now to the shadows.
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ i was speaking with my older brother. he went off to help our other siblings and lady mother, ❞ she began. ❝ my betrothed has two younger brothers, one who was still at the celebration. i went looking for either him or lady cailin, and found them both together. ❞ she'd tried finding pim first, only learning later why that’d been impossible. ❝ the three of us then fled the ballroom together. ❞
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
it was a shame that the martells had such a failing master of whispers. her birds would’ve determined that information before the sun had set the day after the blaze. still, her brow furrowed thoughtfully. ❝ many of the decorations would’ve been quite flammable. ❞ her eyes wandered. ❝ unfortunately, i think they are amongst the guests, perhaps one familiar with the castle’s layout. ❞
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
❝ i don’t know any of the deceased, but lady vareena is a friend. ❞ but it wasn’t how of her injury had happened that helaena had spent much time trying to determine. ❝ given all the recent events and the lengths they went to spoil the crown prince’s wedding, i do suspect it. ❞
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
helaena looked over at the crown princess. ❝ your new crown princess and prince abraxas’ wife. ❞ behind calm hazel eyes, judgement grew. this was hardly an inquisition, an inquisition required direction. this was blind fumbling. ❝ at this point, anything seems possible. ❞
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
❝ i woke early to take a walk in the gardens. it was quiet so no, i didn’t see or hear anything. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
she shook her head. ❝ all i know is that it’s a tragedy. ❞ poor lady manwoody. a death that would likely become a footnote in history as the martells try hiding their failures.
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
this entire time she’d been waiting for a question like this. though originally she’d thought it would’ve contained indications on their thought path rather than this open ended one posed. ❝ the source of these attacks appear to be unhappiness at your family’s recent marriages, ❞ she began, words flowing more like innouncent musings despite the great care with which she selected them. ❝ however, appearances can be deceiving and while certain choices made by the culprits can seemingly point toward certain people, ❞ or houses, ❝ it could all be another trick hiding their true aims. ❞ a small shrug.
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ? do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
❝ i do not. if i do, i will let the crown know. ❞ only if pim agreed that was the best course of action.
the last bolton called before the dornish council strode into the throne room with a bored expression. it was only the strict instructions from his older sister that made him offer a small, almost unnoticeable bow before he sat down, practically lounging in the chair. it was the disadvantage of val running through the council’s questions multiple times, so many that kieran had lost count, growing annoyed that she’d thought this necessary, because now he had nothing to worry about. he knew each word they’d say, and each word he was expected to say in return. if he could swallow his barbed tongue. yet annoyance bubbled in his veins simply looking at the martells.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
❝ my family arrived a week before the wedding. ❞ unfortunately. kieran had tried traveling as slow as possible, taking many detours on the journey to go hunting even though his hounds had been left at the dreadfort.
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
❝ i mainly stayed in my family’s apartments and got ready for the celebration. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
he leaned back even farther in the chair, head lolling slightly to the side. do you only employ blind guards? ask them. ❝ i got bored and retired early. back to my apartments. celebrations aren’t something i enjoy. ❞ i returned to witness your guests burning. it was the best part of the night. ❝ no. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
❝ lots of people were moving about. i suppose some left. ❞ he had to bite his tongue, patience fraying at the inane questions. he’d thought val might’ve been altering them slightly so he’d find the real ones less annoying. apparently the martells really were that clueless.
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ are you deaf- ❞ he ground his teeth together. ❝ since, as i said, i’d already retired for the evening, i didn’t know any fire had occurred until the next morning. it was the main topic of conversation amongst all the guests. ❞ a lie. his sister had said he should express his sympathies; kieran crossed his arms.
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
he snorted. maybe- ❝ if you stopped twiddling your fat thumbs you’d fucking know by now. ❞ well, shit. that was not what his sister had told him to say. a long moment of silence stretched, kieran determining that he had, in fact, said that out loud. oh well.
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
❝ no one i know would be dumb enough to not know how to run away from a little fire. ❞ lips curled up into a grin, all his sister’s instructions forgotten. now he was having fun. ❝ i really thought everyone knew this . . . but people don’t try kidnapping others to make friends. ❞
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
❝ have you forgotten your own names? ❞ he chuckled.
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
the angrier the council looked, the wider kieran grinned. ❝ same as you lot. nothing. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
❝ i know that it’s another person you’ve failed. how many is that now, including your new princesses? since it’s only a matter of time before those knives hit their mark. ❞ dark eyes coldly looked directly at the new crown princess as he spoke, slowly enunciating the last few words, relishing at the thought that even when the martells thought they were in control he could perhaps still make at least one of them squirm.
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
❝ you really haven’t done shit. ❞ another laugh. ❝ why should i do your job for you? ❞
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ?
❝ i don’t believe the crown knows how to do anything useful so no. ❞
do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
❝ plenty, but i like my tongue where it currently resides. ❞ he’d already charged over the line far enough. now he only wondered if his sister would get to reprimand him first or if the dornish guards got to play mighty and drag him off to a cell before she could.
annoyance was written plainly across his face. since his older brother had already been summoned, lukas knew how pointless this inquisition was going to be before the martells even opened their pesky mouths. they’d once more been turned into animals caged and now were asked to work for their own freedom, as if these people had any right to take it in the first place. his eyes don’t leave the council, not an inkling of fear or intimidation in sight, and he declined to bow. this was not his ruler.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
❝ before the wedding you made us all attend. when else? ❞
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
he sighed. ❝ getting ready for and then attending the wedding like everyone else. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
when his brother had told him about the inquisition, this question had been the one lukas had made sure to prepare for. ❝ i left early. the celebration wasn’t that impressive so i chose to spend the evening with better company. ❞ he shot the council a cheeky grin in case they were too daft to understand his meaning. ❝ before you ask no, i don’t know her name nor did i care to ask for it. i was very drunk and left early the next morning. she was gone when i returned. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
❝ i wasn’t paying attention. ❞ he said with a shrug, managing to keep himself from pointing out that watching the guests wasn’t his job just as finding the culprits wasn’t his responsibility either.
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ fucking. i don’t think you’d appreciate me going into details in front of the princesses. unless the crown prince would like some pointers? he probably needs them. ❞
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
his brow arched. they really were clueless, asking this when he’d already told them he hadn’t been there for the fire. ❝ at the wedding reception. i think one of your many invitations granted them access. probably walked past your guards on the way too. ❞
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
❝ i heard princess maery was nearly kidnapped and was the only one who fought off her attacker on her own. ❞ pride cracked through his annoyance before the next question overrode it. lukas rolled his eyes and didn’t deign to answer.
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
❝ you. ❞
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
❝ sleeping. there isn’t much else to do in this cage. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
now it was simply amusing how little the martells clearly knew, and lukas couldn’t help but have a little fun. ❝ i didn’t realized i’d been employed as a dornish guard. if so, i haven’t received any coin for it. ❞
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
all he offered was a shrug. the silence stretched on for a long moment, but lukas didn’t look away from the council. he could care less about the squabbles of the mainlanders, and even if knew anything he wouldn’t be telling the martells.
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ?
❝ once again, i’m not a guard. ❞
do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
no answer was given. he only stood up and turned expectantly toward the door, waiting for it to open.
at the outset of her questioning , visera’s arms are crossed tightly over her chest , her chin tilted slightly upwards in a fashion that resembles childish petulance . “ i arrived with house targaryen . on dragonback . ” not the back of her own dragon , but nevertheless .
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
the answer to all of their queries seems so plain , to visera — though she cannot come out with it . “ if i had spent my day planning to burn sunspear to cinders — ” she pauses , gripping her upper arms with antsy , frustrated fingers . she begins again . “ surely whoever the culprit may be would not admit to anything bad in current company . ” her inexperienced viewpoint was certain that this inquisition would be fruitless .
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
" i went out to a balcony to see if i could spot the dragons beyond the winding walls . ” a pang of longing blooms in her chest at the mention of the dragons . since she had bonded with darksmoke , visera had spent little time away from the green beast . the martells knew not what they meddled with by keeping the two apart . “ i pointed them out to a few people , and returned once i could no longer see them . ”
did you see anyone leave ?
brow furrowing deeper , visera’s gaze lowers . a half - hearted shrug is all her interrogators are offered in response . she had not seen , but had heard of her uncle’s early departure alongside pim . it had left her suspicious , skeptical , and half certain that he had had everything to do with the fire .
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
" i don’t remember , ” visera shakes her head obstinately , redirecting her hands to grip the arms of her seat impatiently , “ i looked for my mother . ”
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
visera’s eyes are poised to roll in a mark of her not yet distant teenagedom before she stops them , checking herself , exhaling quietly . “ does it truly matter what i think ? if your maesters cannot figure out where the fire started , you should consider stripping them of their chains . ” she thinks back to king’s landing , how pim had directed her through examining blood patterns following the poisoning — it had been simple enough . her eyebrows are raised slightly as she speaks , tone more sympathetic than accusatory . she is worried , now — worried that the dornish will never signal the end to their imprisonment .
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
“ princess alexia is my friend , ” as she says it , visera speaks as if she’s attempting to convince the dornish council of the claim’s veracity . she hears it as she imagines they must — the grandiose delusion of a bastard who yearned for any sort of status . but her love for alexia is genuine , as was her heartache at knowing she had been attacked . “ every person in the realm has someone who wishes them dead . things are no longer sunshine and daises . they haven’t been since the events at king’s landing . ” visera shakes her head dismissively .
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
visera thinks of pim — their suspicious injury . “ i don’t know . ” the ignorance of youth , feigned well in the wake of her tantrum - esque previous answers .
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
“ i go to my younger sister’s chambers each morning — lady staunton , ” she clarifies , for her younger sister of five holds a title that demands mentioning . “ i heard nothing . the day was equally boring as the one before it . and the one before that . and the one before that . ”
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
what did visera know ? she herself wasn’t sure . her mind had been doing backflips since her conversation with her aunt , trying to make something of the odd puzzle pieces she was given concerning the murder of lady manwoody . “ i heard from a squire that they were dornish . and that they were found in the throne room . i’m not even sure that’s true . ”
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
" i don’t know . i haven’t given it much thought . ” in truth , she suspects a dornish house — second only to her own uncle .
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ? do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
she leans forward in her seat . “ — when will i be able to see my dragon ? ”

when word had arrived that the martells wished to question her, katerina had nearly been sick. it was said they were summoning everyone but she still didn’t understand why they’d want to speak with her. her nerves had only grown as she’d walked with one of her older siblings to the throne room and then waited outside. it felt like an eternity before the doors opened. she tried to hold her head high as she entered and curtsied gracefully, but the moment she looked at the dornish council, their stern expressions reminding her of a man long gone, kat shrunk, and when she sat down her eyes were downcast.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
her wide eyes immediately snapped to the first person who spoke. ❝ some time before the wedding with my family . . . i’m sorry, i don’t recall the exact day. ❞
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
❝ i took a short walk in the gardens early in the morning before returning to the blacktyde apartments to get ready for the wedding. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
the way they were staring at her made her feel even smaller than she normally did. slowly, she nodded, feeling like she’d done something wrong. ❝ a few times. the crowds were very large, and i needed a moment to myself. i didn’t go far, only outside the ballroom, and i returned each time. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
❝ some. i noticed a few people out in the hallways when i was. ❞ she glanced around, looking for some sign that they were pleased with her answers, but the eyes merely stared back. she tugged at her fingers. ❝ but i didn’t recognize anyone. i’m sorry. ❞
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ i was watching the dancing. ❞ her gaze lowered. ❝ i ran . . . ❞
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
her mind raced. why were they asking her that? why did they think she would know anything about the fire. her stomach twisted. surely they couldn’t think she was involved. she quickly shook her head. ❝ no, no. i don’t know. maybe the tapestries? or the flowers? ❞ her words practically crashed into each other as she spoke. ❝ there were so many people, they could’ve gone unnoticed. or been disguised. i truly don’t know, your grace. ❞
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
kat nodded. ❝ my cousin, maery, was nearly kidnapped. i can only assume that there was foul play ❞ she didn’t want to imagine the wrath her family would’ve reigned down on the martells had maery been injured.
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
❝ house martell, unfortunately. ❞ her gaze drifted to the new crown princess. she looked so composed sitting there; katerina couldn’t imagine being the same if she was in her place. ❝ perhaps? ❞
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
❝ i was helping the maesters take care of the wounded. i didn’t know someone had died until i returned to my family’s apartments later in the afternoon. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
katerina almost cast a look at the door behind her because all she wanted to do was run. she wrapped her arms around herself, digging her fingers into her arms. ❝ n-no. your grace, i truly don’t know anything about the fire or the recent death. ❞
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
❝ no. ❞ she wished she had something to say. maybe then they would stop staring at her so coldly.
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ? do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
she opened her mouth to say no but her voice finally failed her, her anxieties grown too strong, transforming into a hand wrapped around her neck. embarrassment turned her cheeks bright red. averting her eyes yet again, katerina shook her head.
all of his other worries were left on the other side of the door as harrion stepped into the throne room. he’d come alone to the inquisition, his wife noticeably absent even when he’d been waiting to be called inside. that also wasn’t a concern for now. his only focus was assisting the martells in finding those responsible for the fire. also, and slightly selfishly, he hoped the direction of these questions would inform him of the direction they were leaning, enabling him to act and prepare accordingly and also grant him some peace of mind that his family and people would soon be safe.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
❝ about three weeks ago with my family and others from the north. ❞ the journey from winterfell hadn’t only been long but tense. harrion had often rode alongside the carriage in order to avoid the suffocating silence his wife had wrapped herself in. arriving in dorne had been a relief.
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
❝ i was in the stark apartments getting ready. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
he nodded. ❝ i left once to check on my son. i wasn’t away for very long and once i returned, i didn’t leave again. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
❝ yes, but no one i saw seemed suspicious. ❞ had they then they surely would’ve gained more than a passing glance from him. harry might’ve once felt safer in sunspear than king’s landing but that hadn’t meant his guard had been nonexistent. ❝ many appeared to be coming and going, both out of the ballroom and the courtyard. ❞
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ i was outside with a friend, lord mavrick lannister. ❞ having drunk a nice amount of wine with intentions to indulge in more. it was most fortunate that his senses had only began buzzing when the first screams of ‘fire!’ had sounded, not that any amount of inebriation would’ve stopped him from helping. ❝ i immediately helped those around me get to safety, and then returned to help others and see what could be done to extinguish the fire. i remained in the ballroom until i was told that there nothing more i could help with. ❞
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
he paused for a moment to think only to shake his head. ❝ i suspect they were, unfortunately, invited to the wedding. i’m afraid i cannot answer with certainty where the fire began, your grace. by the time i went to help put out the fire it’d already spread quite far. ❞ the ballroom had been decorated lavishly but most of the decorations had proved perfect kindling for the fire.
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
brow furrowed. ❝ my sisters, ❞ he began slowly, ❝ were both among those who were nearly kidnapped. the arryns are also friends of mine. ❞ speaking of how close he’d come to losing two members of his family made his hands clench. the next question felt entirely unnecessary. ❝ i believe foul play has been obvious for some time. ❞
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
❝ the attacks have been particularly focused on the new crown princess and princess sharra. i would say that they are likely the main targets. however, it’s equally as likely that the fire provided the attackers the opportunity to expand their reach and target the other princesses. ❞
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
❝ i spent some time attending to my duties before returning to the stark apartments where i remained for most of the day. ❞ like wolves, the starks felt safer in a pack when danger was present. ❝ a member of my council informed me of the murder after word began spreading in the afternoon. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
his hopes for garnering even a hint of indication that the martells investigation had led them somewhere was gradually draining as the questions continued. it left a sinking feeling in his stomach. he tried ignoring it for now. ❝ only what is common knowledge and that they are not from my kingdom. i’ve heard some whispers, which i’m certain you all have heard as well. given that the other monarchs are quiet, i imagine the victim is from dorne. ❞
are there any houses of people you suspect may have any involvement in these attacks ? are you suspicious of anyone ?
questions had been swirling in his head since the fire, but given how tight lipped the martells had, understandably in harrion’s eyes, been he had nothing solid to base any suspicions upon. and he had gained no insight from sitting here. baseless accusations would not fall from his lips. he shook his head.
have you seen or heard anything that could be of use to the crown at this time ?
❝ i fear i haven’t, but if i do or if any of my people inform me of anything i shall inform your grace immediately. ❞
do you have anything else you’d like to share ?
❝ if there is anything i can do to assist in the investigation, i am willing and able, and the same is true for my council. ❞ blue hues glanced around one more time at the people around him. there was a lingering sentiment in his head, a lesson he’d personally learned in king’s landing when he’d opened the door and found a northerner poisoning his father, but sensing the tension in the room he elected not to speak it. hopefully the martells were also aware that enemies could, unfortunately, lurk in their own borders and were looking into that possibility as well.
the lady of the vale was the very image of composure as she entered the room and took a seat before the council. there was no reason for her to worry. if anything, it should be the martells answering to her why her good sister’s safety had been failed now twice. however, all signs of the frusteration she had freely disclosed to her husband were now locked tightly away, but the warmth with which she’d once offered the dornish royals, now an extension of her family, was muted.
when did you arrive in sunspear ?
❝ a few weeks before the other guests began arriving. ❞ a fact they would know seeing as sharra’s second wedding had been a small affair. ❝ i, along with my husband, attended the small ceremony celebrating the union of my good sister and prince abraxas. ❞ she pointedly didn’t look at the man when she spoke his name.
what were you doing the day of the wedding ?
❝ i remained in the arryn apartments, resting and then getting ready, until the wedding celebration began. there were a few alterations that the dressmaker needed to make to my dress that took longer than anticipated. ❞
did you leave the festivities at any point during the ceremony or reception ? where did you go ? did you return ?
alicent hoped the question was posed only to confirm records the guards had kept and not because the martells had neglected to keep track of who came and went during the celebration. ❝ no, i didn’t. ❞
did you see anyone leave ?
❝ many. it seemed people were coming and going as they pleased, but i didn’t pay them much mind. ❞ that should’ve also been the responsibility of the martells’ guards, but as these questions continued she found her faith that they’d remembered to fulfill any aspect of their job that evening fading.
what were you doing when the fire began ? what did you do in response ?
❝ sitting with my husband in the ballroom, which is where i was for the entire reception. we had been preparing to return to our room. ❞ she couldn’t help but raise a brow at the follow-up question. she rested a hand on her pregnant stomach. ❝ well, given my current state i doubt i would’ve been much help to anyone. i, with the help of my husband, left the room as quickly as possible. only once i knew all my family had made it out did i return to my room. ❞
where do you think the fire started ? do you have any ideas on who might have started it or how they might have gotten in ?
❝ i didn’t have the chance to wander around the ballroom or courtyard much as i was quite tired so i cannot answer with any certainty. there were plenty of tapestries and flowers. ❞ and if they’d done any investigating she didn’t understand why they wouldn’t have at least a general idea of where the blaze had begun.
do you know any of the victims of the fire personally ? do you suspect any foul play ? would anyone wish to see them harmed ?
the crack in her composure grew, eyes widening, and she bit her tongue so some of the venom filling her mouth dissipated before she spoke. ❝ yes, my good sister, sharra martell, has now almost been kidnapped twice. ❞ alicent locked eyes with each member of the council but it was the master of whispers that her gaze lingered on the longest. ❝ clearly there is. and while i’m certain house arryn has enemies, sharra’s life has only been in danger since she came to sunspear. ❞
who do you think the targets of the attacks and fire were ? do you think some were used as a smoke screen ?
❝ your newest princesses. ❞ she answered without hesitation, incredulous that they even needed to ask. more words were on the tip of her tongue, but alicent decided it was best to keep her answers brief before her frustrations grew too palpable.
what were you doing yesterday morning ? ( the day of the murder ) did you see or hear anything unusual throughout the day ?
❝ i remained in the arryn apartments all day so no, i did not. ❞
what do you know about the recent murder ? are you aware of the victim or who might have desired them dead ? do you think the victim is tied to anyone in sunspear ?
❝ the rumors say it’s one of your bannermen. ❞ another person house martell had failed to protect. ❝ but that is all i know. ❞
