TL;DR: This is Eve/Luna/whatever you know me as-- the creator of TS/BB/AC, and I wanted to give some advice, not here to attack any of you since I know you’re most likely hurting right now. It’s completely understandable if you don’t want to read any of this, so ignore it if you wish to.
I’ve seen the one post that tagged all the main HM/RF tags and I’ve heard a little bit of what’s going on, so I wanted to give some advice as someone who’s been on both sides of this kind of mess.
I believe that I’ve met all of you at least once, at one of the groups, and I’ve been friends (or acquaintances because I didn’t get too close to anyone who didn’t seek me out) with some of you at one point as well. A lot of shitstorms and chaos have happened, be it privately or publicly, which my motto was to keep things private and professional to avoid upsetting the members who weren’t involved in any fights among other members or general disagreements. I made mistakes and I definitely messed up a lot along the way, but people are people and nobody’s prepared to deal with the kind of stuff that Mods are put through just to keep an rp going. Nobody’s prepared for fallouts between friends either, with emotions comes pain among other feelings that usually lead towards being defensive or lashing out. So it’s hard to solve problems when you’re emotionally-driven or you’re currently feeling upset/angry/lost, which is understandable for both parties. Things should be put off until everyone is feeling more at ease, so any kind of discussions need to take some time and everyone has to be given the chance to calm down before they jump into things. If it seems like the discussion is more so a place to call criticism or point fingers, then the end result will be less than fantastic. Everyone has to be willing to listen, to acknowledge how they hurt somebody, and agree that they want to fix things (both their behavior and their relationship with the other parties) before even attempting a discussion. Otherwise, it’s not really a discussion and it’s a full on brawl. What’s the point in that?
(Also, please make sure to ask people if they are willing to discuss things with you before you throw them into a heavy discussion. Especially if you plan on bringing in other people who may or may not be involved, it doesn’t help that person feel safe and secure if they have zero control over the setting. It only breeds anxiety attacks. If you have more than one person on your side, then they should be allowed to bring someone to support them (double-check with them to be sure they are comfortable on their own otherwise, even if you think you are an unbiased party member). Think about it as a balancing act and how you would want to be treated. And know that it’s their right, as well as yours, if they don’t wish to speak to you any longer. Everyone has the right to back out of a friendship or to step out of a conversation especially if it’s detrimental to their mental health at the current time.)
If your initial reaction is to yell back, throw insults, or to say “look at what they did to ME though!” then that’s a normal human reaction to being in pain. It’s not a healthy reaction though, which you can take it from me since I know I’ve yelled at two of you in the past (as both a Mod and a friend). It didn’t get me anywhere. If anything, it made things worse because I wasn’t thinking clearly and I was focused on either my own pain or empathizing too much with someone else who was having issues. It’s hard to be totally unbiased too, especially if you’re closer to one person over the other when dealing with conflict.
It’s hard to change and it’s hard to apologize sometimes, it’s hard to forgive and move on, but you know what? It’s worth it. I’m not saying I’m perfect because I still get into “I want to fight!” mode when I get stressed out and angry-- it’s just a lot easier to deal with now that I’m on the outside, looking in. I’m detached from all of this and I can see everyone reacting from their emotions, clearly frustrated to hell and back. There are a lot of anonymous messages going on, accusations being thrown about, people spreading things through the grapevine to explain themselves, and a ton of miscommunication that will probably lead to more anonymous messages in the end. From your end, you can try to explain your side of the story if you really want to, but otherwise you should consider what may happen afterwards. You don’t know who’s going to react angrily to what you tell them, be it at yourself or at the others involved, so from my point of view I would say to keep the issues between whomever is involved. That’s the best way to contain it and keep others from fighting _for you_ even if you didn’t ask them to.
Outside of that-- All we can do, as human beings, is try to STOP the urges where we tell ourselves to _fight_. It’s not worth it. It will only hurt you in the end if you let it consume you.
If you were in the wrong and you want to make things right, then do your best to apologize in full so that the person(s) you hurt understand that you heard them, acknowledge that you hurt them, and that you aim to do better in the future. That’s it. That’s all you can do besides actually living by your words to do better in the future.
I’m almost 100% certain that I’m known as the crazy person in the HM/RF rp fandom, probably for good reasons because I know I did some damage one way or another when dealing with shit hitting the fan, but if you can take one thing away from anything that I said…
It’s not worth fighting with each other. It’s okay to block someone if you don’t feel safe speaking to them, for any reason, but it’s never going to make anything better by fighting or throwing each other under a bus.
Clearly you all are searching for something from this fandom specifically as you all have been here for so many years. There are friends to make and writing to be had, which makes this place important to you no matter how small the community may be. I am not trying to dismiss anyone’s feelings about anything because I know people are feeling hurt, rightfully so, but I am saying that the best approach to all of this (if you truly want to step away from that pain) is to stay away from the ones you cannot build a bridge with. Talk about your feelings with your friends and get some help from professional resources if you can, but don’t turn it into a “venting” session where all you guys do is talk about someone behind their back. We’re all guilty of this when it comes to venting, it’s what people do. However, we can change the way the discussion goes and let the healing process begin by trying to rise above it. Fight the urges to yell at someone or to throw call out posts onto the dashboard, involving everyone else only makes matters worse because none of them have the full story. And please take note, I’m not saying any of you are horrible people for doing what you’ve done. (I’m not dismissing what you’ve done either, but I don’t believe you can never change.) We all reach our breaking point and we do things that we think is the right or healthy thing to do, it still doesn’t help in the end unless we try to discuss (without jabs/pointing fingers; try to explain it like THIS IS HOW I FEEL WHEN YOU DID XYZ) or move forward when it seems like nothing can be done.
As I stated before, it’s hard to apologize and it’s even harder to change, but it’s possible. You just have to take the steps to making things better for yourself and those around you. That could be by removing yourself from the situation until you feel like you can officially apologize (and mean it) or it could be finding another fandom to hang around other people as a fresh start. You can’t demand a clean slate (I know this from personal experience) because you have to show you want it and you have to earn it, just like gaining someone’s trust/friendship after a whole lot of care and hard work. Others can’t demand a clean slate either if they’ve really hurt someone, so this isn’t me saying YOU specifically are not deserving of it or anything like that.
You have to be kind. You have to care. You have to try harder.
You have to remember we’re all humans who come from different backgrounds and have our own troubles that the rest of us can’t see, you don’t have to make or take excuses for anyone’s actions, but you can try to be understanding to the best of your ability and treat them like you would want to be treated-- especially if you have a lot of growing up to do. (Yes, this goes for EVERYONE.)
You don’t have to forgive and forget when someone has crossed a major line and you should never force someone to do that either. But you can still show them kindness. You can still try harder and better, even if you can’t mend certain bridges. That’s the only way things will work out. Give it time and do what you can to show who you really want to be.
As for anyone who isn’t involved in the situation, just like I’m not personally involved, you have to remember that you don’t have the whole story and you’ll probably never have all the pieces to the puzzle (like you can’t see DMs, group chats, or past history between two people), so you should tread very carefully. (Avoid throwing accusations around and assuming things. Avoid treating someone poorly because of things you’ve heard. Avoid getting into spitting matches in defense of your friends.) You have to be kind to both sides if you try your best to stay out _OR_ you can help in a productive way where you tell the truth (from your point of view) instead of sugar-coating and staying silent if you see someone you care about doing something wrong. There’s no reason to be mean and harsh about it (like how I’ve yelled at two of you in the past), but you have to say something if you want things to get better. I would say it’s always best to talk about it so you can help your friend make healthy choices, be it for themselves or the other person. Bottling it up never does any good since it can build resentment that’ll leak out later on when things get rough. Most of all, do NOT make group chats to discuss how much you hate someone. (I’m saying this as someone who was in a group chat, a long time ago, that primarily discussed how annoying/rude/mean certain individuals have been.) You can hate the things they’ve done or said because they hurt you, but you should never, ever be part of a group chat that is specifically made with the intention of hating on one person or a group of people. It will never do any good! If your friend is part of one, then talk them out of it and explain how it makes you feel to see them participating in such things. It’s not right, you wouldn’t be okay if someone made one about you, and that sort of thing can REALLY hurt the person if they ever found out (yes, they always find out sooner or later). You may be venting and searching for validation in the way you feel, but it can and will hurt people when you go beyond explaining how hurt you are. You never know who’s friends with who either, so you could be hurting your own friend by putting them in a tough spot. It’s just best to discuss things in a healthy way and avoid doing the things that you know would hurt you if you ever found out. It’s best to be kind.
Sorry that’s a big wall of text and I know people don’t like it when I do this, so I’ll stop this here. I hope you don’t take this in a negative way because it’s not my intention to hit you on the nose with a newspaper or something. I’m just saying that if you really want to change how things move from here, then you’ll have to do your best to show you’re sincere when you say that you want to start over. It’s never too late to apologize to whomever you need to. It’s never too late to ask for forgiveness (although you have to accept the fact that some won’t forgive and they have that right not to do so) if you want to ask.
It’s never too late to change. Things can get better from here. I wish you good luck in your endeavors. (Sorry if I cause any anxiety problems by doing this.)

If you have any ability at all to create/find Maerwen icons from RF: Oceans/Tides of Destiny, I will probably love you forever? Any luck?
How does 46 icons containing Maerwen with and without glasses sound? ( Some of the sources I had to use to create the icons had Maerwen without glasses and her headdress which is unfortunate but oh well! )
I hope these are of help!
Hey~ We're a new farming sim group taking light inspiration from the anime Made in Abyss! We accept Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, Innocent Life Stardew Valley, My Time at Portia, and Return to Popolocrois. We were wondering if you would be open to affiliating with us, mayhaps? Thank you very much and we hope you have an excellent day~
No, I don't have an interest in affiliating as I know who runs this group and the hate the admins, and a couple of their members, have been involved in spreading within the community. I’ll be publishing this in the tags as a warning to anyone who is considering this group as what they have done to others is not a fate I would wish on anyone. The admins at wellspringskies have already been banned from two Harvest Moon-based roleplay groups for their actions, hence the creation of this one. If anyone would like details, please feel free to contact me off anon.
This is not the sort of community I want to affiliate with and promote. I do not make these statements lightly and without good reason.
