Next week is Round 2 of "bone cutting surgery." Kelty will have a reverse periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) on her right hip next Wednesday, December 11th at Seattle Children's. We can't decide if she is feeling better or worse knowing what's coming. She has pain in her right hip, as well as a severely impacted range of motion and she wants that fixed; on the other hand, she knows how hard recovery is going to be and has to miss SO MANY things she wishes she could do these next months, and that makes her very sad and frustrated. As far as we can tell, the surgery on the left side in June was a success, both by sight and feel, so that is very encouraging and will motivate her, but looking to the pain, loss of independence and strength, and time doing things she loves has her full of angst. For now, please pray and send Kelty all the love, hugs and support you can muster. That makes all the difference for all of us!
