I think the most interesting why to write reverse Stanford is “man who has never had an ego check in his entire life” and everything that happens to him just reaffirms how cool and awesome and powerful he is. Everyone just keeps letting him get away with whatever he wants because they admire him or fear too much to stop him until he’s this pathetic little spoiled man child who will launch you team rocket style into space if you tell him to stop his little experiments. I feel like this is sort of how bill was characterized in canon and Stanford could have ended up in a similar position if his circumstances were a bit different.
