We are living in such a wild time. I’ll be the first to admit, I haven’t always paid the most attention to politics. But there was no way to avoid the show this go around. I’ve also become more educated on how politics works and how we can all use politics not only for ourselves but for the betterment of everyone. I wanted to get involved this election season and I struggled trying to figure out my place and voice. I struggled figuring out how I could make an impact and encourage people to participate. So I did what I always do when I’m searching for a creative spark; I fell back on to design. I know if all else fails I can rely on design to pull me through. With that said, I had an idea to design a series of social posters to encourage people to vote. I didn’t want to design just any poster. I wanted to design something that people could relate to. I’ve always loved @nike marketing. Especially their retro ads from the 90s. So I decided to utilize some of those old ads and give them new life.
