Not a lot of people know this about me but I’m a huuuugggee BMX fan. Not fan enough to try anything crazy but fan enough to love riding and to love enjoying people like @nigelsylvester shift the culture of the sport. Or people like @asapferg rep the culture. I really want to do my part as a creator to expose more black kids to the sport and aesthetic. TEMPORARY POST: Here’s the thing, I’m all for hype culture as much as anyone. I fully understand the dynamics and science behind supply and demand. I understand that building a buzz around your brand is a sure fire way to get people to buy. But at what point do brands ensure their products are readily available and not subject to the buy in of hype culture? I endorsed @humanrace and really started to like their products. But now I’m in a situation where I have run out of product but don’t have access to attaining more. I’m mean its skincare products. This stuff should be available whenever someone needs them. Especially someone like myself who likes to take care of their skin. Now my skincare routine is interrupted. I now have to make a few choices: 1). Stick it out and wait for @humanrace to restock. Or, 2). Explore new solutions. I’m really leaning towards exploring new solutions because although I like the products I’m not a fan of the experience. What do you guys think? Should I look into other options? And I overthinking the whole thing? Should all products see limited runs to build hype? One of my favorite jewelry brands @vitaly coming through in the clutch. Story: I was first introduced to @vitaly at a trade show a few years back. I kept walking past the booth eyeing the jewelry hoping the guy working the table would give me a piece for free lol (potential buyers get free stuff). On the last day of the trade show the guy was generous enough to give me a necklace and I’ve been a fan of them since then.
