In this vintage espionage thriller from Rue Morgue Classics, Victoria finds herself trapped in a brutal power struggle after a betrayal inside the ranks. What begins as a tense interrogation spirals into a battle of wills as she refuses to break under pressure. The confrontation escalates toward a stark, noir‑style finale that echoes the studio’s signature retro European‑spy aesthetic — all dramatic staging, cold authority, and a final, haunting resolution.

Pulptober 2021 Day 17: The Rocketeer/Retro Pulp
Retro Pulp, which tries to recapture the feel and aesthetic of pulp magazines and related media, generally tries to make the modern audience more comfortable than the media actually produced in that time period.
Thus the heavy use of Nazis as villains in stories set prior to 1942 when they became okay as baddies in American media. Even folks whose politics are more aligned with fascism than I’d like can generally agree that the actual Nazis were bad.
Plus the period racism and sexism are toned way down and acknowledged as a negative thing. Relatively recently, there’s even been decent treatment of LGBT+ folks.
If the look of old pulp covers is intriguing, but you’re skittish about outdated attitudes or want somewhat better roles for women and people of color, retro-pulp might be a good place to start.
