Hi there, I’m Bella and I’ve been sort of lurking around langblr for about a year now, trying to find the time to really invest in learning German. I’ve finally decided, though, that I’m going to commit properly, and hopefully this blog will help with that. My goal is to be at around a B1 level this time next year, all through self study, with no teachers. I can’t really afford expensive lessons or textbooks, so the majority of my learning will be done online with what free courses I can find. 

Here are some facts about me and my plan for this year:

> I live in England, but I was born in South Africa

> I’m a writer and I want to be an author when I’m older

> I’m a teenager

> The environment is very important to me 

> I have curly hair

> To start off my German language journey, I switched my phone settings to German and I found a German Youtuber to watch

> I also subscribed to some useful German learning Youtubers and found a German Netflix programme

> I’m using Duolingo at the moment because it’s free and very effective when you’re in the early stages of language learning, but I’m also on the hunt for some other resources to help my learning

> I like chocolate and flowers

> At the moment I’m watching Stranger Things and Money Heist (La casa De Papel) on Netflix

> If you’re learning German or already speak it please come talk to me! I’d love to practice and get to know you
