Many language learners think their problem is vocabulary.

It usually isn't.

Your mind doesn't go blank because you don't know the language.

It goes blank because your brain is busy checking:

"Is this correct?"

"Is this grammar right?"

"Am I making a mistake?"

Meanwhile, native speakers are checking something completely different:

"Is my message clear?"

That small difference changes everything.

One approach is focused on correctness.

The other is focused on communication.

And communication always moves faster than perfection.

If you often understand conversations but struggle to answer, forget simple words while speaking, or spend too much time translating in your head, the problem may not be your knowledge.

It may be the way you were trained.
