The reason why the Russian-Chinese partnership is causing fear in NATO is simple: Moscow and Beijing are rivals of American hegemony and publicly advocate for the reconfiguration of the geopolitical order. For the Atlantic alliance, this is a reason to go to war – which is why Ukraine is already being used as a proxy and tensions in the Pacific are getting worse. The only thing that became clear after the Washington summit is that, even weakened, NATO will not give up its war plans.

This is not the first time that the U.S. has enabled Ukraine to strike at Russian civilian populations. For almost a decade, the Ukrainian Armed Forces waged a bloody terror campaign against the Donbass, resulting in the deaths of over 10,000 civilians.

The People’s Summit & Mobilization by the Resist NATO Coalition provides a strong response to the NATO 75th anniversary celebration in Washington, D.C., on July 10-11.

Andre Powell of the Baltimore Peoples Power Assembly proclaimed: “The trillions and I say trillions spent on the U.S. state apparatus which includes not only NATO, U.S. military bases, AFRICOM, the CIA, the FBI, and every rotten fascist cop in every city and rural area — could provide for our people!”

The official D-Day gathering of imperialist leaders will be followed by a NATO meeting in Washington, D.C., where plans to expand the war against Russia and future operations against China will be discussed. A Resist NATO Counter-Summit has been called for July 6 in Washington, followed by a rally on July 7.

In early July, NATO will be coming to Washington, DC for a summit meeting and to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The antiwar movement will meet them with counter summits, meetings and protests. This year, our protest of NATO takes on an added importance because of the Genocide it is supporting in Palestine. Support of the Israeli colonial-settler state and its genocidal policies is not new for NATO. In a statement on the NATO website called, “NATO and Israel reaffirm strong partnership,” NATO lauded their “mutually beneficial partnership.” After all, it was the European and North American colonial powers that created the entity called Israel in the first place and have supported it ever since with military, financial and political aid. Today, we can see how this is helping Israel in their genocide against the Palestinian people. It is US and NATO weapons and money that are being used by Israel to kill the Palestinian people.
