Near the beginning of WWII, U.S. artifacts, such as the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, were moved from the Nations Capital for fear the city would be bombed. The principle for forming the Monuments Men was that we understood the value of other people’s heritage because we understood the value of ours. A new partnership between the U.S Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) and the Smithsonian was signed on October 21, 2019.
