Researchers: Ever got scooped?
So I got scooped out of one idea months ago, which I had no worry because it was a miscellaneous topic in my writing. Now, I got scooped of a major concept. How does anyone get around that?Β

Why is it when I have a simple two page paper to write it always tries to turn itself into a four page paper? (Same with four pages and so on) I stop at the end of two and just go, "Well...it's only half done in my heart." And then edit the shit out of it so I can put in a conclusion.Β These are my favorite kind of problems to have.Β
I was going to post a photo/selfie to represent my disbelief at the ineptitude of some people. Then I decided against it because the photo did not capture the depths of how low my confidence in other students has sunk.Β
Anyway. In a trick of fate, I have inherited my summer rooming situation AND one of my research projects from the same person. Said person has left me a complete mess. Both the room and the data set are hardly salvageable. I repainted the walls in the room, as well as hauled out several boxes of left over stuff. I have decided to simply throw away the data set I was given, and start over.
How do you even? If you can't take care of your room/living, at least be good at work. If you can't enter numbers correctly into excel, at least have the decency to take out your shit from the room you are leaving and never returning to.Β
