this was the last request that got in before they closed and wowwww wowowowow. at first i wasn't sure but i sat with it for a second and it grew on me harddd.

hmm. so there is a TDD extended canon in my head that goes all the way up to GF canon era - at first i was gonna take this request with the caveat that this is, like, an AU type thing and not part of the canon stream...but...the more i think about it . the more it either doesn't matter either way, or would be an even funner element to the rest of the nonsense. < guy who was barely managing to resist revisiting TDD this year. goddammit. /positive

There is something in the PnF episode ''Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo'' that's been on my mind for a while.

Think of it as human!Perry perryshmirtz canon divergence. In the dark timeline (Candace from twenty years in the future caused by her successfully busting her brothers) Doofenshmirtz had actually taken over.

While they only showed what it's like 20 years later, I keep wondering about the 'what ifs' from the beginning of the timeline divergence.

What happened to Doofenshmirtz after he survived that tinfoil ball while there was no Perry thwarting him for the next year and a half, and what would it be like for Perry, who failed his mission (probably the first time) and couldn't do anything but watch everything go off the rails? His own family would never be the same again because all creativity was stopped.

In that episode Doof became a cruel emperor in his late years, but that was initially caused by Perry's absence. Without Perry he could never heal from his trauma. He didn't know what he truly wanted anymore and convinced himself that evil was the only path left for him.

Did Perry continue to fight him after recovering?

Think about the tragedy, when Perry came back, there's no longer a way they could bring them back to how things were even though he would try desperately.

And it will make Doof feel struggling too because now he can actually win their battles and every bit of winning draw him further away from Perry.

And despite everything he is still the Doofenshmirtz who wasn't truly evil at heart, so wouldn't it be heartbreaking for Perry to see him fall into the wrong path?

And if there had been feelings towards each other in the beginning, when all of that happened would they still realize it, lie to themselves, or would it all just fade away over time?

All in all, for me there is just so much that can be dug into what the canon just described as 'downhill ever since'.

Could it be something for the if lines of perryshmirtz dynamics?

Also, though it's a dark timeline, I still like to imagine that everything will work out in the end(or not) and have a happy ending(by that I mean at least there's no one dying miserably), because I'm just not the type to handle real angst.

Platyborg's angsty-ass POV in "doubled over" was 1 of my favorite things i wrote that year (with canon!Perry's being probably the 2nd lma), and while i've wanted to do something like that again for a very long time, i never really hit on a way to do so that felt sustainable. then along comes this prompt. holy fuck you're a genius.

see, being someone's nemesis doesn't really entitle you to visit them in the hospital - or know they're in the hospital at all: what's going through Doof's head this whole time? where does he start to go from "making my small daily grievances everybody's problem" to "subjugation with an iron fist?" ohhh we know where lol. your expansion on what would be running thru his head, the way it would be so difficult to pull them both back from the brink even once Perry returned...i'm lovin' it.

and dw, i'm happy to give this one a happy ending - the entire plotline has already pretty much spawned in my head lol, it's gonna be so much fucking fun.

Like, Stanley is the type of guy to volunteer himself for some kind of eating contest (they probably have those in small touristy towns? Idk) and then pretend he hasn’t:

A. Given himself a massive stomachache.

B. Accidentally blown the button(s) of his pants or shirt/eaten enough that his happy trail is peaking out of the bottom of his shirt.

With the sexual dynamic you described in your fics of them with Stan being a little more dominant (I’m not sure if that’s exactly the right description but it’s close enough) I think the mix of bravado/reducing himself into a bloated (potentially horny) mess is fun and interesting.

Even without the food element (cause that’s a level of freakery few would appreciate) the idea of the size difference of Stan and Fidds is appealing. If they meet up post portal then Stan is decidedly round and fuzzy, while Fidds is not exactly twinkish, compared to Stan he’s basically a southern, Troye Sivan.

There’s also an element of insecurity on Stan’s behalf that could be fun to write about. As a larger guy with Fidds being fairly in shape/relatively thin (and perceived as more in shape/conventionally attractive, whether that’s true or not), Stan may get insecure about the pudge. That allows a scenario of Fidds comforting him/appreciating his size and general existence, or of Stan pushing Fidds away.

There’s also the fun stuff of Fidds having farm boy strength (something I’ve seen much fanart of on this app in particular) and how he matches up to Stan (who, again, is built like a tank). Maybe he looks buff but some is chub? Stan thinking he can beat Fidds in arm wrestling, only to get smashed by Fidds (perhaps this will happen in a different way later in the bedroom? Who can say?).

Anyways yeah I think a little one shot about Stan and his gut would be fun to read, and maybe fun to write about. I hope this isn’t too long, and that my interest in Stan comes off as only slightly unhinged. I’m sending this as anon because I’m embarrassed but if you want more my ramblings (for some reason) just say so and I’ll dm you.

(Also, as a bonus idea, any scenario where Stan gets a cold/the flu and has to be nursed back to health in a fluffy sappy way would be fun, but that’s just me being a sucker for sweet sappy fluff and sickfics).

One of Stan’s sexual trauma’s come up during a Fiddlestan smut session, and the two pause things to talk about it. Idk, maybe it’s Stan’s first time getting intimate with someone after getting out of an abusive relationship while on the road or after a noncon or doing a lotta prostitution or something. Anything’s on the table. Just some healing talks and letting a guy know he’s allowed to have boundaries or to not be ready for stuff.

i can see myself picking this 1 up quite soon, actually. i feel i haven't had the chance to really dig into Stan's "missing years" as it were, + have been tossing around the idea of doing some loosely-connected one-shots in a Mystery Trio setting just bc i do think i'll miss writing the 3 of them interacting now that "sleeping dogs" is done!

It's the first time in years he can be truly sure there's no-one poking around in his head. The quiet of the night finally feels reassuring, not ominous. He doesn't have to examine every one of his thoughts for traces of contamination any more. It's such a relief.

But also, it hits him all at once that there truly is no going back now: everything he and Bill had together that was good is never going to happen again. He's never going to see any new colors or get wired snappy comebacks direct to his brain ever again. All the cool science shit they were up to in the dreamscape is gone. He hasn't let himself think about the good bits directly since the betrayal; they're too bright to look at, and they'd only distract him from his mission. But now there's no chance of going back, they need processing and they won't wait any longer. And Jheselbraum is there with a glass of Cosmic Sand to help. Fuck it, he thinks, let's party.

ugh. yeah. people talk about coping with/recovering from abusive or unstable relationships. they so rarely talk about how being freshly out of them feels like being poised on the edge of a cavern, waiting for the other shoe to drop, wondering if you're too broken to ever fit back into a good life even if it does come your way. and missing them, despite everything, god do you miss them.
