Lucky stood, eyes gazing over the monitors in the intercom room. He felt something brush against his sides, causing him to shiver. Large hands and coiled arms wrapped around his figure.
“Shining star,” Frankie whispered against the contestant’s ear. “Why have you been hiding from me?”
Lucky didn’t move; he continued to stare at the lit up screens that showed no movement. “Because I wish I’d never met you,” he said in a dazed-like tone.
Frankie’s movements stopped just before he unwrapped his arms, slowly and hesitantly. The host turned and walked out, not even looking back to the contestant as if he would apologize… because that was only in Frankie’s imagination.

Lucky took another sharp turn, his breath heavy and quick. Monster Frankie is right behind him, and if he makes one mistake, he’ll be dead.
The contestant came up on an obstacle course. He quickly jumped over a gap, but his foot slipped on the edge, causing him to fall. His hands grabbed the edge of the platform as he looked behind himself to see Monster Frankie closing the distance between the two excruciatingly quick. Lucky pulled himself up and started running again.
Meanwhile, Other Frankie stood watching in the Intercom room. When Monster Frankie reached out to grab Lucky, Other tensed up, but, luckily, the contestant had slipped away.
Other could see that Lucky was getting tired; the contestant had been running for almost an hour, barely stopping to catch a break.
“He’s not going to make it,” Cartoon Frankie mumbled from a side monitor.
“He will. He has to,” Other assured, his eyes glued to the screen.
Lucky had made it to the ceiling, yet not far up enough from Monster Frankie. He grabbed a bar to swing on, but his fingers loosened too soon; Lucky fell, hitting the ground before Monster could catch him.
Other slammed his hand on the table, turning and leaving in a hurry. The host made it to Lucky wasting no time.
The contestant lay on his side, mask cracked and body limp. Frankie rushed to him, diligently lifting the contestant in his arms. The host was scared Lucky wasn’t breathing; he was scared one sudden movement would knock the breath out of his star even if he was breathing.
“Lucky,” Frankie breathed, on the verge of tears. No, he couldn’t cry, not now, not with Lucky like this. “I need you to breathe, Lucky.”
When Lucky made no movement or sound, Frankie pulled the mask off and cupped the contestant’s face. “Please Lucky, please, just breathe.”
“I’m sorry… I couldn’t grab him in time,” Monster growled, though, his tone showed how guilty he was.
Frankie pulled Lucky’s body closer. “Lucky, please breathe.” His voice was broken… brittle, as if it were once a piece of paper that was now ripped in small bits.

“Lucky, can you—“ Other Frankie stopped abruptly when he heard Lucky laugh along with Henry. He sighed, shaking his head. “Lucky, we have some things to discuss.”
“The last thing I’d want is for our little rabbit to get mad,” Lucky mocked at Cartoon Frankie who seemed to be turning redder by the second from anger.
“You m0*-3rfv**ing b!*ch,” Toon Frankie yelled, his voice distorted from the bleeping as he grabbed the sides of the monitor like he could jump out at any moment. “Shut the f*-k up!”
Lucky only laughed harder.
Other Frankie started to get the contestant’s attention again, but he doubted trying would only waste his time; Lucky barely looked at him when he didn’t have to.
The host turned and walked out just as Monster Frankie was walking in. His monster counterpart stopped him, seeing that Other was upset. “Frankie, I thought you needed the contestant?” He questioned, his voice low and animalistic.
Other shook his head, looking over his shoulder at Lucky. “He won’t listen; he’s too busy right now.”
Monster Frankie only stayed silent, looking between Other and Lucky.
“Would he even notice if I vanished?” Other Frankie asked, looking at Monster with a type of vulnerability he’d never seen in Other before.
