It seems I didnāt give management the benefit of the doubt. I am so used to having to fight for basic issues that today's events came as a surprise.
I called today, and after further explaining my concerns, they made it super clear they were not only going to be doing a spray for nearby apartments, but that they were willing to skip straight to the pesticidal heat treatment to kill off all the little bastards.
Since the heat treatment raises the temperature to a whopping 160 Degrees Fahrenheit to kill all bedbugs, it means that heat-sensitive items and belongings like electronics, food, and possibly even flammable or melt-able stuff like paper and plastic, have to be removed from the building, along with myself, and my cat, for the 5+ hour duration of the treatment. Due to folks nearby I know wanting to minimize risk of cross-contamination, and, again, me having no money, I have to find SOMEWHERE to stay and keep those items, which leaves either hotels or a temporary storage container. Additionally, due to my damned car battery being completely kaput thanks to COVID keeping us quarantined and having not driven in months, I cannot actually drive myself anywhere either until THAT is fixed.
Additionally, I have still been heavily advised to dispose of my bed to ensure none manage to survive the purge, so at the moment until I can confirm that it is safe to keep it, I still need to raise money to replace it.
With that in mind I probably still need to raise a good $1000 dollars or more to buy a new mattress and bed-frame, find a hotel/storage container and get a repairman to replace my battery? This is a guesstimate, once again due to limited experience dealing with a problem like this.
Paypal is still the same, [email protected]. Any bit of spare cash you can send helps. Weāre all dealing with our own personal problems right now so I understand if nobody can spare any money, again just spreading the word alone would be a huge help. Iāll be queuing this post for the foreseeable future until a solution can be devised.
