Here's something normal for once! "Saturday Morning, 2004" c.2008. Acrylic on canvasboard. This is one of the photographic studies I did in 2008 as creatively I was having a dry spell. The photo was literally from a Saturday morning in 2004. It's my nightstand, with some coffee, a coke (for some reason? Needed that caffeine fix I guess), a tub of Vaseline (for what I can't recall) and my stereo plus a CD Walkman. Obviously this is before I used mp3s - in 2004 my PC couldn't handle the internet so I didn't have it. (It was a piece of shit computer). Anyway, it was very early morning- some of the other photos from this morning had fog outside. I was the only one awake in the house. It was a good time. No social media, no internet obsession, just me, my music, my little digital camera, and painting. I even remember that morning I was listening to Lamb Of God "as the palaces burn" and Immortal "sons of Northern darkness". I miss those times. I'd usually be reading in my bed with headphones on, this stuff in the painting to my right hand side. When my creative dry spell came in 2008 this photo was one of the first studies I did. Anyway, enough reminiscing.
