The effects of trauma aren't always visible. A lot of traumatic events leave only internal pain, and that's the meaning of this piece. The internal screaming is just as bad as anything you may see externally with other types of trauma.

These dogs, often referred to as courthouse facility dogs or comfort dogs, are specially trained to provide emotional support to individuals in stressful situations, including victims testifying in court.
