I know it's dumb because we shouldn't idolize politicians but seeing people across the country get hyped for Katie Porter after she's spent her years both publicly and privately fighting for citizens, pushing for more progressive policies, and taking the time to learn more about other cultures and communities is giving me a weird sense of pride.
