Yumoto is a LUDUS kind of love. One that is mostly for fun and excitement. He sees every problem as something normal and fun to fight. Always excited to jump in battles, to be a battle lover, and cuddles. When it’s no fun, he zones out and cares less of the situation. STORGE love would be for Atsushi. Storge is of friendship and family. Even though Kinshiro stopped speaking to him since the curry incident, he still kept his heart open for him. Tries to keep the boueibu team together when there’s a rough patch (like s2’s episode of Io vs Ryuu in who’s coolest) En, surprisingly, represents PHILIA love, which concerns team love, group love. He’s the one who initiated the High earth defense club, accepted the new members. He willingly (or not) suggest group activities such as the Danran Beach episode, the Bidanshi Day prep so that Ryuu wins in popularity against Akoya, and shouts “Nandateee” in the name of the group despite knowing how cheesy that line is and so on. He’s a real listless MVP! As for Io, he represents the PRAGMA of love. One that endures, one that stays, who is loyal. At first, I thought of how “money never betrays”, but looking at it more deeply, no matter what happens, he remains stubborn on a subject (like who used his toothbrush). Even more is that despite the one time he left the club to join the student council as accountant… he came back. And as the most logical of the group, he’s the one who keeps the group safe by halting silliness. Io’s the real boomerang. Kinshiro is the PUPPY kind of love. The embodiment of a sweet, pure, innocent childhood crush (towards Atsushi) which never left his heart. Aka the entire plot of Season 1. And even in S2, his love and appreciation for Atsushi is so lovable and pure that our hearts melt. For Ibushi, I figured he is the ALTRUISTIC love. It may not show much in the anime series, but in the Seifukubu manga, Ibushi’s chapter is about how he cares for the happiness of Kinshiro, his smile and his well being. He has no evil intentions as member of Team Comquest or as much of a motivation in being part of the Student Council other than because Kin-chan is there. Ibushi encourages him to pursuit his “vengeance” towards curry and Atsushi if it’s to make him happy. He was ready to punch the Press Society’s president for making fun, in principle, of Kinsmshiro’s back story (but got 1up’d by Gero) . Gora-san is the representation of PARENTAL love. He is the “responsible adult” of the Kurotama bath house, takes care of a sick brother, makes the bentos, scolds Yumoto to get better friends (referring to the “time stops now” monster of s2e1), how he runs into danger just to save Yumoto. How he did not pursue education since he was too busy saving Earth, saving Yumoto. The true mom-dad character of the series. And lastly, the Twins Akihiko and Haruhiko represents MANIA love. The obsessive, jealous, and intense infatuation towards Gora, their TV idol from CIDE1 with Gorar-san. How they wanted to be idolized by the entire galaxy (to reach Gorar). How obsessed they are to destroy the Battle Lovers (mostly Yumoto) for the honor of “keeping” Gora-san.
