#repost problem

One of the best example about “Reposters gained more likes or comments than the original Artist”. 

I feel so tired I dont even know why am I drawing now.

I saw that they even wrong mentioned ID for the credits...Most of the times they’ve credited my fanarts as “Credit to Google”, “Credit to Pinterest”, “Credit is already inside the picture”, “Credit to XXX (someone who reblogged the post)”

Urgh TOXIC.

Thank you, its a never ending problem for artists to deal with repost issues. I used to keep reporting them but realized the action is wasting my time so...I gave up.

Most of the time, my usual way to release the depression are eating sweet stuffs or sleep. Maybe I’ll get a bit better after having a pack of Chocolate later :)

the recent case that destroyed my last remaining good-feels for tumblr and fandoms, is finally closed.

as often, the story goes like this:

the repost-blog owner looked at the edits, *oh how shiny HQ stuff*, but of course was unable OR unwilling to see that all (3) have the same kind of text/signature/whatever on them. result: *let’s (re)upload the stuff from google image search result page and care about problems later*

***LATER:

sure 30+ minutes of my life were wasted for reporting/solving this case via several messages, and of course the repost received 300 notes while my original shit is rotting away at 22 or 23 notes. of course nobody in the respective fandom helped to spread my reblog-VS-repost info message or cares to spread my original post (now/1 year after uploading it).

best thing: in the apology message of respective repost-blog owner i had to take a punch between the lines, in form of “[my stuff] is [just] slightly edited”. that is not only rude as hell (coming from the thief) but also wrong depending on the source material’s quality, which can cause editing process duration between 10 minutes up to 2+ hours.

in other words: editing is a process but also a way of (personal) life and expression of feelings. some edit as process/work is 10 minutes, another might be 2 hours. each edit contains same amount/quality of FEELS from the editor.

STEALING A DAMN EDIT (WILLINGLY OR BY ACCIDENT) MIGHT BE A SMALL PUNCH AGAINST THE WORK/PROCESS TIME OF AN EDITOR BUT IT HAS SAME BAD IMPACT ON THE EDITOR’S EMOTION (+ ruins the chance to gain notes on my/the original upload)! the reason why people steal and repost an edit is bc it’s good, and not bc the repost-blog considers the amount of time that was put into it (in this logical argumentation it would mean a short amount of editing time).

if you ever want to learn stg from fandom, then it’s this:

choose wisely IF you want to work (for free) for fandom communities bc it’s like in real life, there are good and bad moments and friendly and rude people or simply too many who don’t care much about details, some rules or friendly behaviour.

Sherlock says: IF YOUR UPLOADS ARE HQ/GOOD, THEY WILL BE STOLEN AND YOU EITHER HANDLE THAT OR FIND OTHER WAY TO CONTRIBUTE TO FANDOM-LIFE (ON TUMBLR). MOST CASES CAN BE SOLVED SO NEVER GIVE UP! (i wante to leave tumblr twice in my 4 years here, but rather decided to stay and reduce activity or i stopped to support some fandom...)

the blog “celebaday” is stealing and reposting my “edit works”.

PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING THAT (RE)POST^^

THREE of the 4 photoshoot edits in that post are mine, uploaded exclusively to my tumblr blog, marked visibly with my blog’s signature. my original posts (2 bc the black&white edit is not in my GQ-edit set) received not much attention and support, but now i have to see how the repost blog receives your 290+ notes of support.

i know that not everybody cares about any rules when being online or on tumblr and in fandoms but think about this:

if the majority of editors would stop providing the nice and free stuff..., you would be left with low quality weheartit re-reposts. sounds not so funny. please consider at least one basic fandom rule: support the original source, editor owned blog instead of repost-blogs.

to be clear: i reported the case AND try to solve it via private messages. but how convenient that the repost-uploader is in sumer vacation..., but i got a reply from the other member of celebaday so i still hope the repost(s) will be taken down.

each of those 290+ notes on the repost is a virtual slap in my face. my original post is rotting away at 22 notes. i am the one who invested time, feels and editing skill into those Pratt edits, not the celebaday blog-owner(s). i guess not many of you will now jump and reblog my original post after having seen the edits, but IF some want to support it, here you go:
