Leodari can’t carry on like this. Deep in a belief that nobody’s on his side, he feels nothing but hatred for this world. He’s convinced himself he takes pleasure in destroying it, but part of him wants belonging as has been shown multiple times. While with Orca (and Itia), his personality would soften and his violent urges subside. Although Orca would put him into a fair amount of peril at the time, he was better off with Orca because the latter wasn’t actively trying to manipulate his actions and caring for him out of good grace. The Emperor is merely using Leodari as a pawn to reduce his enemies’ chances.
I believe I can see conflict on Leodari’s face with the way he looks at what they’ve done to Orca. Since he used to be so fond and possessive of him, I hope he can help him in the end. I’m not too happy about the time skip. I would’ve really loved to see how it went from Leodari and Orca cooperating on Karkarias and Leodari claiming him as his big brother, to… Leodari watching Orca being tortured under his very eyes and being more or less fine with it.
