Children of the Whales for our shojo poster anthology! This series is so whimsical, happy I had an excuse to draw it again. 🐋✨
You can get leftover books/PDFs here.
I still have like...eight titles on my list. XD Anyways! Children of the Whales! Crazy art and world building. Took me over a year to read the whole series, and when I finally ordered the last volume, the delivery person accidentally dropped the book down a storm drain. XD I fished it out though!
We didn't saw them together that often but their duo became so important !
cant deal with not having content of them anymore. pirate au. and fish.

CRINGETOBER DAY 24 : NICHE INTEREST
> ok i know this literally doesnt count as a niche interest but ITS A FANDOM WITH LIKE 3 PEOPLE AND IM STARVINF AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH . i drew my boy chakuro and a chibi lykos cuz !! cute !! chakuro ily my fav character
im on volume 22 guyz i dont own 23 yet should i wait bec idk if i can handle a cliffhanger. im . so scared.
Chakuro from Children of the Whales is an Avatar of the Vast.
anyone who loves anime and has a netflix account should go watch children of the whales if they haven't already. i've only ever seen one person know about it but it is genuinely SOO good story wise and art style wise.
it's about a group of people living on a giant island called the mud whale that drifts around this sea of sand, some of the population is normal while the other half has powers though that halfs lifespan in greatly decreased (i.e; the ones without powers can live to be crusty old as people whereas the ones with powers typically die between 30-40ish and that's only if they die of natural causes) and the main character, chakuro, meets this girl named lykos on an abandoned drifting island and its discovered that she also has the same powers that some of the mud whale inhabitants have except she's not from the mud whale.
it's pretty sad but good in my opinion, i originally wwatched it either when it released onto netflix or a year after that (i cant remember when it was) but everytime i rewatch it it's always as good as i remember. there is character death, mostly because later on there's a war but some does happen earlier, so if you're uncomfortable with that death or blood (and there is quite a bit of that) i'd say either watch at your own risk or chose not to watch all together.
but children of the whales is HIGH on my anime recommendations list both for story and art, and while i haven't been able to read the manga since i tend to prefer to read physical copies more then online versions and i can't find physical copies anywhere, i'm sure the manga is just as good as it's anime adaptation! anyways here's some screenshots so you can see why i love the art so much
