I FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS YESTERDAY IM SORRY but she's everything to me... imo she's honestly one of the most interesting characters in pjo and i wish she was still more popular as a point of discussion because i think she presents such an interesting contrast to basically every character in pjo.

like -- she's the only person other than annabeth who knows luke before everything happened, she can relate to nico/bianca as being not only a child of the big three but also being taken out of time for a period of her childhood/teenage years, she contrasts with percy because she's also a child of the big 3 and she's older than him, but she chooses not to take on the prophecy while percy DOES, percy is also frequently jealous of her because of her bond with annabeth, the fact that she's also a potential prophecy kid, the fact that she's been kind of idealized by the other characters during her absence, the fact that her powers are more advanced than his in some ways (manipulating the mist in ttc, for example). at the same time, she's uniquely human and when percy learns that she's even afraid of her own power, it's a fascinating way of looking at these extremely powerful big 3 kids and having them actually have to grapple with the extent of their own power.

Honestly, I still have some unanswered stuff I do mean to get to at some point but like... it just doesn’t spark joy the way it once did. But maybe one day, who knows.

THAT MOMENT IN S5E4 “KRAL ZERA” WHEN THE EPIC MUSIC STARTS PLAYING AND HE WALKS UP THOSE STAIRS IN SLOW MO, ALL DETERMINED AND SHIT, BOWS TO LIGHT THE FLAME AND THEN TURNS AND LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL OH MY GOD AND THE PRIEST SAYS “THE FLAME IS LIT BOW TO YOUR EMPEROR” AND IT SLOWLY ZOOMS OUT, GALRA GETTING ON THEIR KNEES LEFT AND RIGHT, VOLTRON BEHIND HIM AND THE MUSIC GETS LOUDER AND THE SCREEN GOES BLAKC IM WET JUST THINKING ABOUT ITtttmmmm no seriously that’s the closest i’ve ever gotten to actually crying while watching vld it’s such an epic moment

s3e2 on planet puig after ezor kicks the blue guy’s ass and lotor says “join us, ans you’ll never need voltron again” bc it’s. such an interesting moment, it establishes where he stands in the story & how he operates

this reminds me of one time in sociology class. the prof was talking about how one of the major differences in white american society vs much of the rest of the world is how they treat aging elderly parents... i'm korean and when this white kid was tried to claim the nuclear family was the norm, i was like. bro. not all people be like white ppl

gdrive, and i can't take the slimmest chance that something might happen. i've been looking into an external hard drive and some cloud services... i know you write a lot and as you're a Bona Fide Adult who Knows Things, i'd be grateful if u could impart your wisdom. thanks so much! (also-- since i can't trust gdrive or ms word, i've been trying to find good alternative writing software programs. problem is, i haven't really found anything except maybe scrivener. if youhave any recs on that fronti'd appreciate it a ton!! thanks so much!)

i hope you don’t mind that i’m answering this publicly just in case anyone else has the same questions!! (also it’s good to know that my efforts to appear like a functioning member of society are working because i’m really a Fake Ass Adult Who Knows Nothing At All)

i had a computer crash on me back in undergrad and i lost EVERYTHING so ever since then i’ve been super intentional about backing things up and i probably go a little overboard, but this is my current set-up:

-2 external hard drives (both salvaged from old computers but you can also purchase external hard drives if you don’t have a bunch of vintage technology to take apart). the only reason for having two is because i’m super paranoid and if something were to happen to one of them i’d still have another fully functional one. i have a cable that allows them to be plugged into a usb outlet on any computer which is a neat bonus if i want to be able to work but don’t necessarily want to carry my laptop around.-2 usb sticks (same drill, if i lose/break/misplace one i still have another one with all of my writing on it. these have significantly less storage than the external hard drives so i usually only keep one draft of all my writing on them and use the external hard drives for the 25 different word documents full of brainstorming shit that we all don’t want to admit we have-this goes without saying but i also have everything saved on my computer-i have some writing in g drive but i just reserve that for works that i’m sharing/editing/co-authoring because it’s the easiest way for people to access the same work from different places at the same time-i also have all my writing saved in both ms word and in pdf format 

i typically check everything once a month to make sure all my writing is properly backed up on all my devices. in terms of my fic, i’ll back up every time i finish a chapter, and in terms of my thesis and other scientific writing, i back up every time i type a single letter because i’m paranoid af. 

i’ve personally never had any issues with ms word but i do keep all my scientific writing and data documents password protected for patient confidentiality reasons.i’m not the best person to ask about other writing software because i’ve been ride or die for ms word my whole life (because i am Old), so maybe some of my followers who use other writing software can help out with this?????
