Today we explore the difference between Renolock and Discolock, two flavors of competitive Warlock decks in the current Standard metagame.

Get him to 1 health, he Renos.  Get him to 8 health, he Alex’s back to 15.  Get him to 7 health and he Lord Jaraxxus’s.  Sigh.  Just die you orange gemmed demon.

BUT NOT ANY ORDINARY DRUID!!! Since the season started, I’ve lost a lot of games to off-beat things while trying some of my own. I dropped to rank 20, and then decided to play some reno handlock for my dailies. It’s going well and I’m winning most games, losing a few to bad draws whatever. I go into my Rank 17 game and my opponent is druid. My first thought as usual “oh great force savage combo AGAIN... fun.”

Turn 3 my opponent plays the 2/4 and draws us both a card. I dismiss it as an out-of-place card just to fill a slot. from there, I get naturalized, and realize it’s mill druid. Okay. I’m pretty low rank right now, so it’s a thing i guess. haven’t seen it in forever. Around turn 7 i think i have 8 cards in hand. My opponent goes brann coldlight oracle and burns my reno and something else. okay... so that’s bad, but i start to amount a solid board state of a few big powerhouse creatures. I think i’m at the point where i can win, safely outside of Force+Savage range. And then... he plays explosive sheep, followed by poison seeds. I’ve never seen this combo before. It destroys all minions, replaces them with 2/2 treants, and then explosive sheep deals 2 to all of the treants. It was and insane board wipe. And then he slammed 2 Volcanic Lumberers for free. I lost that game, but THAT is the kind of content I enjoy. It was unique, interesting and honestly, I got outplayed!
