"Alan is cool I really like him"

I love how the show starts with the show idolizing Rose Quartz but as the show progresses we find her flaws.

We met Rose thought the rose tinted glasses (pun intended). She’s a mystery to Steven and us but we are told by the Crystal Gems that she was amazing.

She was amazing to them she believed in them and helped them be who they wanted to be. Pearl could fight and be independent. Garnet could live as a fusion. And she told Amethyst she was made just right. She saved Pearl and Garnet in war and pretty much adopted Amethyst.

Latter in the show we find she kept secrets from them. She wanted to protect them. But also didn’t want them to think she was less than perfect. She was flawed but we didn’t see that because that’s not how the Gems saw her.

Rose was stubborn. She had a lot of guilt leading the rebellion and loosing so many gems. That’s why she loved the idea of starting over with Steven. Being honest and less stubborn.
