It was another one of those dreadfully boring evenings where she had nothing but her thoughts and the occasional sounds of gunfire to keep her awake. These past couple of weeks had been dull to be quite honest. Though there was much dangerous hustle and bustle acting up within her sector, Blake couldn't bring herself to play hero and get involved in any of it. Not only did those scientists give her some child's wooden toy to defend herself with, she also wasn't exactly the best at hand-to-hand combat. What was she going to do; pursue the enemy only to run away shortly after? What kind of combat tactic was that? As much as she wanted to help those in need, she wouldn't have been much help.
The only way she's now been spending her time was by meeting up with those who were from Remnant, getting acquainted with strangers, and reading books in her own seclusion. It wasn't that bad of a gig to be honest. Though she did find it quite selfish that she thought it was quite nice not having to deal with the mess back home. The White Fang, Grimm, Roman Torchwick and his cronies-- All of that and possibly more. She was needed back in Vale with her team; with her friends, and all the other hunters and huntresses who are participating in this soon to be all out war.
She would push those thoughts aside though and just make best of what she had here. They could survive until she returns. . if she returns.
On this particular night where the sun had not quite set, though still dark enough to be considered night, Blake had found it best to go stretch her legs; take a cautious stroll out to try and occupy herself. The books she had found and/or purchased had been read through and she sure enough had enough of sitting alone in her own abode. Maybe she would find a bookstore around here that wasn't abandoned or vandalized.
As she had made her way down the sidewalk gripping her wooden sword tight in hand, she had heard the sudden crash of broken glass. Following that were screams of terror; people calling for help and desperately running in her direction from around the corner.
Looks like now was the perfect opportunity to test her abilities.
The faunus reacted quickly by running towards the source of chaos. Blake scanned the area as best she could with her weapon raised. Broken glass on the sidewalk, droplets of blood stained here and there--. . But no sign of the perpetrators as she could tell. She was too busy inspecting the scene and muttering to herself to notice someone in her presence doing the same thing.
