Selene made circular motions in front of her, opening a portal with no destination that Tethys could see but with the sun currently being blocked out by something mythical, she deemed it better to be on the other side. After Selene calmly made her way through the portal Tethys rushed out behind her, nearly falling to her knees.

Tethys moved her head to look every which way so she could take in her surroundings before her eyes landed on Selene's stoic face and emotions started to pour. " Where are we? Where did you take me?!" Tethys charged toward Selene who dodged her but Tethys quickly recovered, striking Selene twice in her stomach before she flipped her on her back holding her in place with her hands.

"Last time you were much nicer. The first time we met you were meant to be my protege in a way, in another timeline we are goddesses fighting against each other in another we fight with each other. There's one where you marry a wind god named Fujin and you have a child with him." As Selene drones on Tethys finds herself listening and questioning her sanity at the same time.

"There is a timeline where we are lovers but I won't delve into that." Selene cautiously released Tethys and stood from her kneeling position. She held her hand out for Tethys to take and after the water-wielding woman examined it enough she grabbed it and rose to her feet. "I will welcome hostility but I would like it if you would care to hear my words first. " Selene spoke as she began her walk towards the white temple in the distance but in her peripheral, she caught Tethys' nod and took a deep breath.

"Lovely. Now this new era has been made to...," Selene paused as she looked towards the sky then glanced back at Tethys who raised a brow. "We might be greeting another guest." Tethys didn't like the sound of that and yet she still followed the woman to the temple. When they arrived at the temple Selene waved her hand at the door and once they entered, with a snap of Selene's fingers light blue fire lit the area and Tethys was aesthetically pleased.

"Besides that fruit have you eaten anything else today?" Tethys narrowed her eyes and let a slight sneer spread on her lips. Selen returned it, "Whatever you may be thinking of me you get the thought out of your head if you think I am a bad hostess." Tethys thought nothing of the white-haired woman yet. That was a lie Tethys was currently thinking that she may be insane or very well at making one think she is insane.

As Tethys laid her bag down and sat down in a chair she watched Selene as she lit white candles in front of two paintings both containing three women. In the first painting; she saw Selene who was in the middle and noticeably shorter than the other two women, Speaking of the other two the one to her left had beautiful brown asking with golden eyes resembling the sun and her skin was shining as if she had crystals embedded in her skin. The woman to her right looked like someone she had heard of in scary stories when she was a little girl. Pale skin, red lips, red eyes, and long black hair with a single white streak going down the side of her head.

She was staring at the painting now and she felt like the woman with the red eyes was staring back. Tethys shifted her gaze to the next painting and saw another trio of women. A brown-skinned woman in the middle with platinum hair like Selene but much shorter she shared the same blue of Selene as well. The woman to her left who had her arms crossed in front of her wore an obsidian color on her lips and her hairstyle resembled the devil, Tethys felt a chill crawl up her spine but before she could focus on the other woman she took silent note of those pink eyes. The woman on the right looked genuinely happy with her hands on her hips and wearing gold jewelry on her arms and around her waist even in her locs her brown skin was shining as well similar to the woman in the other painting.

'Are these women she has known throughout all the timelines she speaks of?ʼ Tethysʼ toes started to curl just thinking about it but she relented as Selene sat down a plate of food and a cup of tea in front of her.

"This timeline was made for everyone to have a sense of starting over. There have been so many trials and errors in former timelines that I commend him for not giving up." Selene shook her head as a frown slipped onto her face. Tethys swallowed her food and held the teacup to her lips warily, "Him?" Selene looked at Tethys and then back to the woman in the paintings. "Lord Liu Kang, God of Fire and Protector of Earthrealm." As Selene finished her sentence Tethys heard shuffling in the corner which made her slam her tea down on the table and get into a fighting position but when she saw Seleneʼs relaxed form leaning on the wall, she scowled.

"Another trick?" Tethys growled. "Not by me," Selene announced and a man appeared from the shadows. "No one in these walls mean to trick you, Tethys." A warm deep voice greeted the room and Tethys slowly dropped her offensive stance. The man dropped his hood to reveal long black that half into a bun and the rest flowing over his shoulders, his eyes showed small swirls of fire that never stopped moving. The man nodded at Tethys then to Selene and Selene returned it with a kindness but it felt forced.

"Tea?" Selene offered. "That would be nice thank you, Selene." All he got was a hum in response and her retreating figure. The man then focused his attention on Tethys as he began to walk towards the table. "Formalities are not forgotten but time as is has been cut short. I am forming a team of Earthrealm heroes that seek peace among the realms to vanish the bane of all that threatens my peace. Do you?" Tethys tilted her head confusion.

"Do I what?" Tethys got nervous everything felt so serious and he was so serious. You never truly know what's going on around you until you're told or you a stuck in a certain situation. Tethys was a mix of both.

Something was wrong.

Tethys wouldn't be able to describe it even if you asked her. But she could say one thing everything felt new. She can't remember much of her childhood if she thought about it for too long things became more blurry.

She tried to focus on the things she knew. The things she was well aware of. Tethys huffed as she walked the streets of her village everything had gotten boring lately. She felt antsy. She wasn't meant to be in one place for too long or her whole life for that matter.

If she started her journey now in the early morning she would arrive in Outworld at least by midday. She knew she would have to stop at the neighboring villages for supplies and she didn't mind that. She was counting on it actually.

She had heard many rumors lately such as the princesses of Outworld were soon to be crowned and betrothed, and there were gods roaming around some seeking vengeance and others seeking solace. One rumor that stuck out to her was that there was a woman roaming from village to village wandering around looking for something.

They described her as having platinum blonde hair in a bun wrapped with intricate braids as if to protect something within it. She wore robes of deep colors such as blue and purple and she wore them short to fit the blistering sun of Outworld. Everyone never failed to mention how she had to be blessed by the elder gods for her eyes represent the heavens. Galaxies upon Galaxies some would say.

As Tethys rearranged her sling she realized she was reaching the edges of the village because everything had begun to look sparse. Except for grass, there were miles and miles of field to walk through Tethys sighed and began her so-called journey.

She commended her earlier thoughts on wearing something lighter. Her robes were a cream white overlapping with brown and ropes of gold on each side of her. Even though she was kicking dirt and sand out of her sandals earlier they were a good decision as well but she was still considering stopping and slipping on her signature boots. The only jewelry she sported at the moment was a black rope necklace with a sapphire gem in the middle.

As she started passing through the last patch of fields she entered another village and she was greeted with people dancing up and down the dirt roads and music making its own melodies and singing accompanying said melodies with their sonatas.

She went to a fruit stand and purchased a purple fruit with a green leaf on top and it fit well into her hand it also had a bit of weight to it. The seller said it was packed with juices and quite sweet so she was anticipating it as she perched herself on a rock. There were people everywhere it was quite crowded honestly but it didn't bother her.

As she began to peel the fruit back she didn't notice immediately that someone sat a few bodies from her which again wasn't a problem. Out of her peripheral she watched as the woman took her hood off and waves of pearls flowed down her back. She watched her bathe in the sun, her hands folded in her lap and legs crossed.

Now Tethys was staring taking in her appearance and her outfit. A mix of black and blue her heels were knee-high with a silver crescent design on top with a matching crescent necklace. She had on a blue corset with a short black overcoat that was connected to her hood.

Then her head snapped in her direction to meet Tethys and like the timid person she never was, she focused back on her fruit, stuffing piece to piece in her mouth with purple juices drizzling from her lips.

A smile now graced the woman's lips and she couldn't stifle the giggle that came out if she tried.

"Hello."

"Sorry."

A greeting and an apology met each other. Tethys looked at the woman and kept her mouth a bit embarrassed to open it once again and get bumbled with words she shouldn't.

The woman then held out her gloved hand, "Hello, I'm Selene."

Tethys found her smile warm and comforting but also familiar. Tethys looked at her and then at hers and her mind stuttered a bit. "I'm sorry I would love to greet you but I wouldn't want to ruin your gloves with nectar. I heard it gets sticky when dried." Tethys rushed and then Selene handed her a white cloth. "Best not to let it settle."

"Thank you." She stuffed the last bit of fruit in her mouth and plucked the cloth from Selene's fingers. "I am Tethys." Selene nodded her smile never leaving.

"Who are you?"

"A friend if you accept me as one."

Well, this would have to be the fastest friend she has ever made. The village elders would be impressed not really though. Selene sat closer to Tethys and their faces were awfully close. Tethys had to be sweating Outworld weather was something no one could be prepared.

"You seem awfully familiar have we met before?" Selene's voice was soft with a deep tilt. "If we have I don't remember but I feel like...I would remember someone like you. You look hard to forget." Selene placed a hand on her thigh and patted it.

"That's quite the compliment."

"Yes well, I don't know where-" Tethys next set of words died on her tongue as both Selene and Tethys looked towards to sky to see it consumed with red and splattered with orange. "What's happening?!" Tethys looked towards Selene and she meets and mirrors her look. Tethys eyes travel down to Selene's necklace. Selene's glowing necklace. Before Tethys could back away Selene grabbed her wrist and started dragging her through the crowd that was going half frantic.

"It's not what you think I swear it." Selene's voice cracked and Tethys could see whatever facade she had earlier was slowly crumbling down.

"It feels as if we have met before."

Atria stopped her careful movements of tracing the amulet she had retrieved from a chest. Daneiris watch the snow-haired beauty walk around the area seemingly ignoring her statement.

Iris craned her neck to catch a glimpse of the woman's eyes. Every time she looked she saw galaxies upon galaxies.

"Oh, sweet Atria you ignore me so." Daneiris feigned hurt and Atriaʼs lip subconsciously curled up into a soft smile. "Because you talk so rudely to me. Do you know that?" Daneiris cupped her cheek in her hand as she perched herself on a broken sculpture. Daneiris brought her arms out with her hand's palms up so that her vines reached out to Atriaʼs amulet.

To which she smacked away without a second thought. "Such a rude star you are Atria." Daneiris declared openly as she pounced from her perched spot on the moss-covered sculpture and sashayed to Atriaʼs side. "The amulet will burn you," Atria informed her nonchalantly "and your services have yet to be fulfilled to me." Atria pocketed the amulet and turned in Daneirisʼ direction.

"I would be raked with grief if a single rose on you was to be beautifully burnt." Atria then turned away and began to walk away with Daneiris trailing after her. "Beautiful is too small of a word to describe me, starless." Daneiris was now eyeing her pouch as if everything Atria said had gone in one ear and out the other. But before they walked through the gates Atria heard the sentence that was uttered by Daneiris that was barely above a whisper.

Tethys had second thoughts about her decision and she had others to thank for that. But at this very moment, there was no turning back it was a now or never situation. She hated those situations having to do it or else. She had been visiting one of her father's temples where he was praised and given offerings. Some even bowed to her when she entered. Amazing right? She wrapped a string of pearls around the wrist of the statue and she took a moment to admire other offerings that were there. Jewelry, rocks, food, and-- pomegranates? Probably the wrong offering for the wrong god. Tethys shook her head to clear it and looked back up at the statue. She just had to be sure, she needed affirmation.

She sighed and walked out of the temple grabbing her satchel along the way to begin her journey. Her journey is not far but the destination, it could make her heart drop. Before she arrived she decided to take a dip in the water nearby...fully clothed. The water was deeper than she thought it was but the deeper the better right? She had swum deep enough and now she was just there. Floating. Being one with the water. Still moving but peaceful just like the water. She closed her eyes as to relax more of what was possible and she- GET OUT. Tethys eyes shot open and she rotated around herself to see where the voice have come from. The voice was deep and gravelly but also...warbled as if it was under the water with her. GET OUT! She heard the voice again but this time it was more urgent and louder. She heeded the voice.

She practically shot out of the water, stumbling trying to get herself on her feet. Tethys after standing up straight turned around to the water to see a Crocodile with its head out of the water. If Tethys was being correct she was pretty the croc was glaring at her as if saying 'How dare you to enter my water?!'. Tethys gave the crocodile her own glare and snatched up her satchel but after a few steps from being away she put her hand over her chest and let out a breath she forgot she had been holding in. The questions left in her head were 'How did she not see the crocodile herself?' 'Who did the voice belong to? Is it who she thinks it is?' now is not the time to get a headache Tethys. She reached the end of the forest she was passing through and instead of her heart dropping her jaw replaced it.

To say it was grand and elegant, was an understatement there were simply no words for this. Tethys eyes darted up, down, left then right she was flabbergasted. It was a temple to those who knew but maybe to foreigners it was a castle. That answer would have sufficed as well. She walked over the bridge that was one the brink of falling apart, godspeed they say. Tethys entered the temple- there really wasn't an entrance, now there were rooms just not an entrance into the temple itself. She could easily compare it to an aquarium. The walls were thin, thousands of years deteriorating and she could the fins smacking against the walls begging to be free. Tethys instinctively covered her ears and kept walking the halls.

She was too scared to even touch the walls- one poke or one snatch rubble out of its place could have the temple crashing down. Her still being within the temple didn't ease her worries, she was slowly losing her confidence and drive to be there but alas that the confidence and drive were still there, not completely gone. Was that good? It had to be? She was now rubbing her arms as she crossed the halls and turned corners. She slowly came to a stop as she reached the end of the hallway, she cocked her head to the side to show her curiosity and slight amusement. The Mighty Three. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Long dead supposedly, and yet their symbols were still alive.

Zeus' lightning bolt, Hades' Bident Staff, and Poseidon's Trident. All of the symbols were giving off their separate glow. First, Tethys skimmed over the lightning bolt with her fingers at the very least she expected a zap but was utterly disappointed when it did nothing but glow in her presence. Not particularly thinking of Hades she walked straight to the trident. She let her fingers trace the godly glowing designs than from the build-up of courage she grabbed the trident and it felt powerful in her hands but Tethys felt uneasy like overwhelming pressure had been on the weapon to weigh on her. She stood the trident upright and pounded on the ground one time, just to see what would happen. Nothing came to show.

Tethys resumes her walk among the halls but found nothing out of the ordinary. The trident was still in her hands nonetheless. Was it meant for her? Now that's a question to ask yourself or your father if he was there to tell you. She could say no to herself, Poseidon was rumored to have many children and she was in a million. At least that was the case. She has probably passed could be half brother or sister on daily basis and she wouldn't know. As she reached the end of the hall she entered a type of ballroom? It was more than likely not a ballroom probably a sanctuary for celebrations or an area for priests and priestesses.

"You wield my weapon and my power with such grace like it was meant for you." Tethys whipped her head left and right it was that deep voice again from the water in the forest it sounded less gravely but all the more deep. "What?" That's all she said. She had questions. She has statements to make. But that's all that came out. "You are my heart, my only yet, my heart holds fear and love. A combination bound for the worst if you let it be that way." Tethys only now realized that she was closing her eyes. Open. Please open. She did that. She opened them. She was met with...herself? A water body was standing 2 inches from her and she started at it. It did the same. The water body stared back so plain and blank at Tethys that she couldn't tell of its next move.

Tethys raised her hand and the water body version of her did the same. It was as like a mirror. Copying your own movements. She raised her hand and the water version of herself did the same, they got closer and closer until their hands touched. For water itself, it felt solid as if it was another human. Tethys and the water body version of herself finally locks fingers as there hand touch. It was sentimental. The water body Tethys used her other hand to grab the trident but did not snatch it away. Tethys chest started to go up and down, she was hyperventilating. Not because there was a water body version of herself but the fact that the water body version of herself was holding the trident in a death grip and could easily yank it out of her hand and at least try to stab her with it.

Then she let it go, a relief honestly. But she was still holding Tethys hand and that should have been worrisome as well but it wasn't at least not for her. It was calming in a sense. Then the water body got closer to Tethys face, "You are my heart." Each word was uttered slowly, deeply, and with a hint of sorrow. "Yours. All yours." Then the water body let go of Tethys hand and drew itself back to the water surrounding the temple. She wanted to call it back to ask questions or at the least to say goodbye. But as the water body walked away it gave a slyly warm smile as if to say, don't worry I'll be back, and since it wasn't uttered it could be taken in any way.

Tethys looked back at the trident in her hands then she slowly got to her knees, with a smile, and admired her ever so calming atmosphere. This was her temple now. Hers, all hers. She wondered if there were many more claimed by Poseidon and there probably was but this is one right here was hers.

"Again." Tethys had officially spent a full day with Selene and needless to say she was beaten. "Two more rounds, Tethys. One with weapons the next with powers. Then you can rest." Selene said with a grin as she saw Tethys take out her double sword and put down her water pouch. Selene summoned her twin blades and twirled them around "Begin." Tethys let out a war cry as she charged at Selene and swiped at her midsection. Selene dodged by jumping back, Selene brought her leg up for a high kick aiming for Tethys head and luckily she dodged but that made it better for Selene. Selene was more dependent on her legs when it came to kombat at least that is what Tethys was able to learn in their rounds.

She used magic as well but Tethys could tell she was holding back more or so from the fact that Tethys didn't practice magic. Selene had told her that she was one born with mysticism but it wouldn't hurt for her to learn a thing or two. Back to the battle at hand, Tethys had Selene pinned with both blades comfortable in her hands. She won. "Alright, final round," Selene said as she stood up and brushed the dust off of her clothing, she tugged off her cape leaving herself in a silver-white silk jumper. As she stood a few meters away from Tethys she raised her hands as cold blue energy whirled around her fingers and settled in her palm. Tethys noticed that Selene had closed her eyes, she took that time to prepare her water.

Selene quickly sent a knee to Tethys gut and molded her ice into a javelin. She scraped it on the floor near Tethys feet to get her off balance and she succeeded as Tethys continued to stumble backward and she broke the javelin switching back to the ice at her hands and proceeded to ice Tethys feet together to hold her in place. Selene placed her crystal boot heel beside Tethys and leaned down towards her face.

"I win."

Tethys: I didn't see them.

Sombra: No one ever does.

Raiden: I'm not mad I just want to know why you two need a fake ID?

Fujin: *mumbles*

Raiden: What was that?

Tethys: You need to be over 18 at PetCo to hold the puppies.

Tethys: I swear I am a nice person but I'm about to start throwing rocks at people.

Tethys: That's a pretty rock.

Shang Tsung: Nova gave it to me.

Nova: I threw it at you.

Shang Tsung: She is very sweet.

Elysian - beautiful or creative; divinely inspired; peaceful and perfect.

Liu Kang has won. A joyous thing to hear. The Chosen One had done his duty. Everything was how it was supposed to be and then some.

Tethys was now sitting in front of her mirror in a chair, just gazing at herself with a smile. Her hair wasn't in a braid but it was still somewhat curly as it draped her back and decorated her shoulders. Kitana was celebrating her new place as Outworld's Kahn. Tethys had gotten the invitation and she was excited because she couldn't remember going to a celebration this was probably her first. She stood in front of her mirror and smoothed out her dress that Ophelia gifted her.

She closed the door to her home and walked towards the large body of water. She slowly placed her hand in the water and traveled through it. Her water body materialized to her true body showing no signs of water, completely dry as she entered the palace grounds. Tethys looked around in awe never had stepped foot in the Kahn's Palace. "Lady Tethys!" Tethys recognized the strong but kind voice she took her time turning around and when she did so she was met with the beautiful face of Kitana.

"Hello, Kitana Kahn." Tethys bowed even though she was the god here. "It is so good to see you happy and well I presume?" Tethys asked and Kitana nodded happily "Yes, very much so! It's amazing to see you as well. I will guide you to the ballroom." Tethys nodded and they walked side by side. Once they reached their destination Kitana opened the doors and Tethys was easily amazed. The room was half full but it nonetheless was beautiful she looked around and she recognized some familiar faces. Jade, Rain, Kotal Kahn, Baraka, Sindel, and a few others.

Tethys was a social person so to speak but she just...wasn't a great conversationalist. She sat down at a table by herself and a servant poured some of or what she assumed was edenian wine. She took a sip and it was what Fujin described: sweet very very sweet. Tethys was relaxed in her area just enjoying the very joyous atmosphere. It was now hours later and Tethys spoke the truth when she said she had a great time. She spoke more with Kitana and Jade, had the honor of meeting Lady Sindel, and even had a small friendly competition with Rain about their water abilities.

She decided to take a long route home because now it was nighttime and she just wanted to enjoy what was around her. She wrapped a finger around her hair in a very dream-like state. She entered her home and opened the doors to her balcony letting some air in. She took her heels off and walked to the balcony and took a seat in her rocking chair. She looked up at the night sky, accompanied by the stars and the ever so gracious full moon.

Another breeze passed by a little stronger than the last and Tethys smiled. "You always look ethereal my dear." Tethys sat up from her rocking chair and looked into her room to see her lover, her darling Fujin. "You always think I look surreal?" Tethys questioned jokingly with a giggle and Fujin joined her "You always do. The women of my dreams. How else would you have entered my life?" Tethys could feel her cheeks and her body warming from his statements. "You say the most lovely things. You know that right?" Fujin chuckled and leaned down to kiss Tethys.

Fujin kissed her lips, then her cheek, and hid his face in her neck leaving little love bites. Fujin started to walk forward bringing Tethys backward to her plush bed. Fujin on top of her smiled, hands at the sleeves of her dress "May I?" He asked and it was Tethys turn to smile "You may." She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck bringing him down with her.

It was now two months later, and everything seemed to go a little slower for Tethys. She had just gotten back from a mission and she immediately jogged to her washroom and let out the sustenance that she had digested earlier on in the night. She had thought that she was just catching a cold, but of course, that wasn't it. She lifted herself to look in the mirror and just stared at herself looking up and down, scanning her own body. She brought her hands to her breast and squeezed them. Had they gotten bigger?

She had went to Selene's temple for some peace of mind. Selene invited her in and got settled in. "Stand up for me, Tethys," Selene commanded gently and Tethys did as she was told but even had her heaving for breath almost. Selene walked in front of Tethys and started to feel her body and Tethys would be lying if she didn't feel a little odd from the touches.

Selene first felt her hips, they were wide enough for a Tethys size, she will get back to that. Selene then cupped her breast those too seemed a little bigger than they usually were. "Look down to me," Selene said and her fingers traced Tethys jawline but then she focused on her lips. Her face hadn't changed much but her lips seemed plumper. Selene put her hand on Tethys stomach and Selene smiled knowingly and looked at Tethys "By my intake on everything, you are with child."

Tethys was frozen in place and stared into space, but she did it with a smile "Are you sure?" Tethys questioned hesitantly pleading to herself, that she wasn't wrong. Selene had her back turned and she laughed "I brought three children, into this realm, I surely know." Selene said and handed Tethys a small round cup of tea and sent her on her way home.

Tethys was still in a dazed state from the news she had received. She sipped the tea and looked down at her stomach, it felt like the world had gone quiet and it was just her and the tiny being that was now growing inside her. She smiled a big dopey smile that you would see on a child and she couldn't wait to see it on her child.

Fujin visited Tethys that night like he did every night "Are you feeling any better love?" Fujin asked and Tethys who was sitting on her bed looked up to meet her lover's clear blue eyes with a grin. "I feel amazing, but I also have some news for you," Tethys said as she got up from her bed and walked towards Fujin. She smiled as a tear ran down her face and Fujin got worried but then Tethys leaned towards his ear and whispered two very simple words but the words were enough to change his mood.
