Re: the ten year olds you saw. Did they have pokemon with them? You might be able to ask them for pointers on the very basics of battling, and maybe watch them in action.
Also: what kind of combat experience do you have? You said one of your cousins is some kind of...pyromancer? Which I guess exists in your world. But like. Are you a psychic, aura wielder, martial artist? Or is this an armed combat thing?

Oh boy. So my cousin Elena is less of a pyromancer and more of a magical girl? She has a whole transformation sequence and catch phrase and everything. It's like she's from an anime. But shes crazy strong and really good at hand-to-hand combat along with her magical girl element being fire. To be clear, this is NOT normal in my world.
I'm pretty good with a dagger and a gun, and I'm also a Persona user. (Personas are like the manifestation of your heart that can fight and stuff.) But I can't use Personas outside of the Metaverse. I've also had some training from a psychic prince and this boxer I met in my 3rd year of being a second-year so I can throw a good punch, too. Most people can't use Personas in my world, either.
Hibiya didn't have much combat experience before these loops, but he's clairvoyant at least. He's pretty good with knives though. Again, clairvoyance is not normal in my world.
Honestly I still cant believe that all three of individually had a brush with the supernatural. I'm pretty sure we're cursed in some way.
