Vax doesn’t know shit.

Vax’ildan literally doesn’t know who he is anymore.  All he knows is that he is the Champion of the Raven Queen.  The one who helps find those who abuse the powers and mistreats the Raven Queen’s name.  He searches for them, brings them down and hopes She is pleased.  Vax doesn’t remember Vex.  He doesn’t remember Scanlan, or Percy, or Grog or Pike.

Vax doesn’t even remember Keyleth.

In the first thread I ever did with @tempestvoice, it was five and a half years. And even then, he was having memory problems.  I took from the Raven Knight a ton of inspiration because it specifically states that as you become this all-powerful being, you begin to forget who you were on the Material Plane.  So, the longer you’re in the Shadowfell, the less you have of yourself from the Material Plane.  And vice versa.  Things start to click back together.  It’s easy to forget, but it’s harder to remember.

Especially with so many emotions surrounding that place for Vax.

It’s also a damn good excuse for me to write angst and have Karak for @kiernlight because i love them so much oh my god.

She sees it just in the very corner of her eye--a flash of dark hair and darker feathers. Keyleth stops in her tracks, feeling her heart sink into her stomach like an ice-cold stone. It takes her a moment before she remembers how to breathe again.

                                                                        But she had hoped. 

And she couldn’t even really be mad. She didn’t know anything about ships, or the ocean, or the weird things Fjord swallowed but the pirate lady did. She kicked her legs off the edge of the ship, the heels of her boots drumming an unsteady tattoo against the worn wooden side. She was hot too. A big booby elf with thigh high boots and her dumb curly red hair. Much hotter than a stupid little tiefling girl who didn’t know what she was doing.
