I have a habit of taking notes everyday at all times - I hear, see, or even remember something and I’m suddenly dropping everything (I apologize to those who’ve had to experience this with me lol) to “connect the dots”. As bad a habit as this may seem to some - there are often times that I’ll skim through them and have an 😳🤔 moment - picture reading notes you took 4 years ago and ir solving a problem you have today, or that note having led to something dope happening today. To all my fellow nerds kudos 🤙 and to everyone #remaincurious because those small steps become part of your direction & choices. " - Chuck Close . ...Luckily for me, waiting with the clouds brings me inspiration, and the act of translating those moments is my salvation. I used to worry about creating artwork that would relate to others, but it always ended up stale. The desire to please others stifled my creativity. It wasn't until shifting focus towards simply making artwork for the pure joy of creating that the work started to have any impact, or feel true. What the pieces lacked before was authenticity-I was trying to tell a story that wasn't my own. Now the artworks are completely intertwined with my identity, and I know I am my best self during the creative process. Art has given me a voice, a sanctuary, and an outlet for questions and curiosities :: Find what fills you, build towards it with intention, and trust the process to reward you through the struggle. #remaincurious #morningmusing #progressisaprocess #artiststudio (at Squamish, British Columbia)
