I feel I’m nearing another end of a relationship.
We hardly spend time together. I’m talking from 10pm until 8am, maybe one night a week. Most of our contact is via whatsapp or facebook, so it’s practically a long-distance relationship. Three weeks ago he broke my brain by confronting me about some things he didn’t like about me, and asking me to start working on them. Before this confrontation I was fine with our relationship, I felt comfortable giving him his space and time that he (thinks he) needs for uni and work. After this talk, I felt uncomfortable, shocked and hurt. Those feelings haven’t really gone away yet.
I should have a talk with him. I’m quite upset about the direction that our being together has turned to.
The past two weeks I was in Morocco, and some of the people I met there made me feel good about myself. With some people, guys and girls, I felt I had a genuine connection. It’s not rare for me to have that with people that I meet for the first time, and it’s this type of feeling of connection that I felt to S. the first night we met. But it seems that our priorities are not aligned, at all, and for me it is becoming only more painful with time. Nearly one year later and I have gotten used to feeling like I am not a priority to him (although I do believe I have creeped up a little bit on his priority list).
This is not the type of relationship I want to be in, nor the type of life I want to live. We need to talk.
